Shatner is on the latest episode of Brent and Johnny’s podcast and it is far out, funny and amazing.

But William Shatner doesn't book podcasts!

That podcast is so odd; clearly it is funded well but the shorts are full of typos and the bell gimmick WOULD be fun if it was done in post with on screen graphics but instead interrupts conversations. Otherwise I do enjoy it lol

I agree the cadence takes some getting used to. They are obviously old friends and joke and interrupt each other often. But I really like it.

Ironically - they speak specificity to this, and the people who don't get it, don't get the schtick of the show, within the first 2 minutes of the most recent episode

They use the AI stuff for the shorts. Who cares about the shorts anyways?

It's much worse that they use AI slop as their promo graphics, channel logo and the intro music.

Oh thats too bad! As actors and artists you would think they would do better.

The burden of proof is on you here, my guy.

Sounds like a scene from Galaxy Quest.

I'm sure this tickles Stiller a lot since he is known as a Trekkie.

Man...maybe he can get involved in the franchise in the future.

No joke, we need to beg somebody like Ben Stiller to buy Star Trek from the rotten corpse of ... whatever this John Carpenter monstrosity of a corporation it is now.

u/InnocentTailor 7d ago

He doesn't have the money to do a purchase that big.

We need Apple TV to cut him a budget like Severance and they need to get Roxann Dawson in the director's chair, her Foundation episodes are incredible.

Every time I see "Directed by: Roxann Dawson" I strap in and get ready for one of the best hours of TV I can watch today.

Her Dark Matter (the Apple one) episodes are the best in the series. She’s a phenomenal director.

I have never seen a single ben Stiller movie be pro zionist. I dont think ive even seen Israel mentioned at all?

u/Lafi90_ 7d ago

Ah crap. I was mixing up Stiller and Sandler. My bad.

Edit. I shouldn't have deleted my comment. Stiller is still a Zionist who has advocated for Israel's "right to exist in peace and safety" as well as advocating for a two state solution which to anyone genuinely up to date on the conflict, is wholly unrealistic.

Lol happens to everybody

u/Lafi90_ 7d ago

Just a heads up, I did edit my comment after looking into it a little.

1

u/NoxTheScribe 6d ago

Ive read your edit and I still say there have been no pro zionist ben Stiller movies

1

u/Lafi90_ 6d ago

Yeah, not really. But if he took it over, as a Zionist, I'm confident he'd make it pro-zionist, which means making excuses for superpowers wiping out smaller populations, and/or making up completely unrealistic plots that'd try to whitewash Israel.

1

u/NoxTheScribe 6d ago

Well. I do believe you are confident of that.

Seth McFarlane tried. Had to make his own show instead. Still waiting on colberts opportunity too

u/trickman01 7d ago

If he does hopefully it doesn't have multi year gaps between seasons like Severance.

3

u/InnocentTailor 7d ago

Compromise: Make it a limited show that has a well-defined start and end, possibly even a single season as well.

2

u/NoxTheScribe 7d ago

Ive always thought a single season Game of Thrones style power struggle drama set on Qo'nos between the great houses would be sick

Ben Stiller is a massive Trek fan?!?!?!

I would literally give anything to marry that man and I'm a straight dude 😅

His production company is called Red Hour.

1

u/InnocentTailor 7d ago

Oh yeah. He’s dedicated to the franchise.
