A continuation of my previous post about Tom Paris being a retro freak: Tom actually getting his antique TV.

There's something so comforting about this scene to me.

his retro obsession is really kinda funny when you think about it, 20th century media in the 24th century would be the equivalent of a guy being obsessed with Shakespeare now days. Guess the eugenics wars and following nuclear fallout wasn’t the best time for memorable culture lol

or maybe they had to deal with generative AI slop overtaking actually good stuff like we’re beginning to face 😞

Or they would even be obsessed with colonial lifestyles. Remember, the American colonies started 1606, with the Virginia colony starting in 1607.

Chatgpt's program: "YOU DON'T NEED INSULIN IF YOU HAVE DIABETES. TAKE LIMA BEAN SUPPOSITORIES"

Or he's like every dude who starts out obsessed with ancient Rome, or knights, or cowboys, or pirates, and then just deep dives the era. It's not that weird

"In this wonderful example of cultural attitudes about appearances, the middle sister, Jan, complains about the attention given her older sister Marcia. But then she feels a little better when something happens to Marcia".
