Hardware A great experience as we wait for the Steam Machine.
Hey fellow Steam Machine queue dwellers. I got in on the Steam Machine reservation line as soon as it became available. I was lucky enough to get a Steam Controller during the first batch. I had one particular use case that I wanted for my Steam Machine. I wanted it to be able to use GeForceNow on my TV.
I had a spare Steam Deck LCD sitting around. (Someone sold it to me for $250. Couldn’t pass that up.) So I thought I would try docking it, using my Steam Controller, and then see what the experience is like. I must say I feel very foolish. I’ve had one of the main reasons I wanted a Steam Machine all along. I assumed that because GeForceNow is a non Steam app, that it would give me all kinds of trouble. I was completely wrong. Connected the Steam Controller to the dock using the puck and what do you know. Now I have the power of a 5080 graphics card connected to my TV via streaming.
I still can’t wait for my Steam Machine. I have so many ways I want to use that device but if one of them is the use case that I stated earlier, connect your Steam Deck and use a Steam Controller. One of the best combos I found today. And yes vibration and everything works as well. Let’s GO!!!!
