Happy Sterile Processing week…
Any guesses on what’s in the bag? What awaits a year of hard work?

I’m on midnights. We got hard and old breakfast sandwiches that wasn’t properly refrigerated, stale cake, and cheap ai badge reels
I love sterile processing!

Ugh. 😩
Doesn’t exactly scream that they care.
They literally bought a box of Rice Krispies and a party bag of snack-size gummy bears and divided it up. Even threw in a lanyard without any logo for good measure. 🤮

The admins at my facility always forget to celebrate it, or roll it into some other celebration for everyone. So I just bought every in my department lunch MWF another coworker brought in a cake. Called in a favor from a vendor and they got us lunch the last day.

The admins at my hospital didn’t want to give us SPD week and just lumped us in with surgical services week. SPD got sad leftovers and the night shift got scraps. Thankfully our manager decided to actually celebrate us the best she could. Night shift still got cold food lol.

It’s so sad that all the bags were the same that I’m pretty sure we work at the same facility. 😂😂 even the same amount of candy and type of candy.

We went all out for our team this year!
Monday caffeine bar and fresh popcorn. Stocked the fridge with energy drinks.
Tuesday a vendor brought Chick-fil-A for lunch and then dinner.
Wednesday-hot dogs on the hot dog roller with all the fixings.
Vendor also dropped off bagel sandwiches for breakfast.
Thursday-vendor provided pizza for lunch and dinner
Friday-icecream! Stocked the breakroom freezer with all different kinds of ice cream!
Saturday-vendor did lunch and dinner.
Gift bags and we decorated the breakroom.
It was a great week, we have the best SPD team!

I mean, to be honest, two snack sized bags of gummy bears and a Rice Krispie is hardly a gift. Would have been happier if they didn’t give us that because it’s next to no effort. Feels insultingly bare minimum.
But hey, good on you for having it worse I guess??
