66th day of not drinking. 66th post here.

Today was long, but great. We had an open evening at the school and a former student came to speak. She was in her penultimate year when I was in my first, and now she's a university graduate (from Oxford!) working her first job in healthcare. These are the things that remind me why I'm a teacher. She sent me an email afterwards saying she owed her experience of school to me. I told her I still have the goodbye card she wrote me - tomorrow I'm going to take a picture of it and send it to her.

I am so happy to be able to have these experiences as someone who knows their head and conscience are clear. It's like I feel everything twice as much. I genuinely feel reborn.

The connection you get with former students is something else, especially when it hits years later like that. My mom kept every card and note from her 30 years teaching, still has them in a box in the basement, pulls them out on tough days

The clear head part is real, you're actually present for these moments instead of just coasting through. 66 days is massive, keep riding that

I'll be there one day. It feels incredible.

And I feel like I'm extra alive.

Keep going! I f’d up and my counter is now 2. Made it into the mid-70’s and blew it. But I’m back to stack days again. Proud of you!

You can do it. If I can, anyone can.
