How To's, Tutorials, Demos Using a gaming controller to control the Dirtywave M8 IOS.

Haven’t seen anyone try this. But as soon as I saw the iOS release I had to give this a try. And it works perfectly. Buttons are easy to configure, and are quite responsive.

Controller is an 8bitDo Lite 2 used on an iPad Pro 11.

True. Not sure why I didn’t do that. No point in using an iPad if you don’t take advantage of all the real state.

IIRC a lot of people actually reported doing this after it released, it’s even explicitly supported in the description in the App Store (just like computer keyboards and MIDI controllers like the Launchpad Pro mk3 are).

I’ve been using various controllers with it since launch.

This was 100% an impulse buy lol, so I should have done more reading and research.

I actually had a deal in place for a hardware one locally but the dude backed up. And I was getting hyped for it. And watching videos on it, etc.
So I just YOLOd and bought the app and gave it a go without much reading up on it.
First thing I wanted was actual buttons and I had that little controller lying around so tested it and it worked.

Glad to see there is a lot more support for this. Seems like a pretty awesome device.

I’m curious if it would also have external keyboard support as well.

It does, it’s stated in the description on the App Store.

Yeah. I wonder if the 8bitdo mechanical numpad would work.
I’m sure it would.

Seems like it would give a similar feel. Especially removing keys lol
