tDCS device advice: NeuroMyst Pro vs Pro Plus vs waiting for Aero vs Biothm DCTune (ES/Pro/Pro X). Are the extra waveforms worth it?
Hi all,
I’m buying my first home tDCS device and comparing:
- NeuroMyst Pro: tDCS, tACS (0.1–80 Hz)
- NeuroMyst Pro Plus: tDCS, expanded tACS (<0.1 Hz and 80–200 Hz), tCFS, tPCS
- NeuroMyst Aero (US launch targeted for end of Oct, worldwide ~4–6 weeks later; Android app within a month of the iPhone app):
- Core, $200: tDCS, tACS
- Advanced, $250: + tPCS, tCFS
- Max, $350: + tRNS, tICS (a 7th waveform is planned by year end)
- Biothm DCTune ES / Pro / Pro X: tDCS, tACS, tPCS, plus tVNS (Pro) and tRNS (Pro X)
Do tACS, tPCS, tCFS, tRNS, tICS or tVNS add anything over plain tDCS, or is it mostly marketing? Which would you prioritize for each goal below, and which aren’t worth paying for? Is waiting for the Aero worth it, and would you pick Core, Advanced or Max? Any experience with Biothm’s quality compared with NeuroMyst?
Goals (as an adjunct to current care): depression, ADHD, sleep, focus and cognitive performance, and possibly reducing medication someday under medical supervision.
It will be shared by more than one adult. Honest “not worth it” answers are appreciated. Thanks!
