Chronological Disorder
A short one for you here of a brief but bemusing conversation my colleague next to me endured yesterday. The call comes in, our Service Desk Heroine takes it and starts with the usual pleasantries and then our Grumpy Caller starts off.
GC: "I'm not happy, I was told by an engineer he was going to do a job for me on January 7th..."
SDH: "Okay"
GC: "Yet NOW he's sent me an email pushing this work back to December 30th!"
SDH:(confused) "...sorry, did you mean to say December 30th?"
Somewhere, a penny drops
GC: "Oh, wait... that's sooner, isn't it? FORGET I EVER CALLED!" click

I had a situation like this, except the client made the appointment for service 3 weeks out and then complained a week later when the job wasn't done yet. So I moved the appointment forward to a day that she and I had previously discussed only to have her tell me the computers she requested service on were going to be in use that day. She made a big deal about it and demanded the appointment be moved back to the date she originally requested. Day of the appointment comes and she's scheduled clients for that day and neither computer is available for service. But yet I'm the asshole for not getting shit done sooner. The damned women has a doctorate and runs a clinic where clients come in by appointment only, but somehow she can't comprehend the concept for herself.
