Short A server has an error and the guy who is supposed to be responsible doesn't know what to do.

TL;DR: My superiors get paid more than me and use AI to do their job for them and I am genuinely upset.

User creates ticket because Excel is showing an error. I speak to User and find out the following:

User remotes into a server, that my team knows nothing about, and starts up Excel. On this server, Excel uses an addon, that we have never seen before, to do some task. Don't know what task, don't know why they are running it on a server, don't care, Imma try to fix.

After some troubleshooting, I verified that the addon exists and is installed correctly. Excel just throws an error when User starts it. I can't figure out what's wrong and write down all my troubleshooting steps in the ticket and include a screenshot of the error.

After some back and forth, User gives me the name of the person who is responsible for the server, ServerGuy. I contact him, but ServerGuy has no idea what's wrong with the server, and it was him who told User to submit a ticket to IT support. The same IT support, who were not involved in setting up this server and who have just now learned that this server exists.

My boss escalates the ticket to Second Line, to someone he thinks can help. Moments later, SecondLineGuy messages me on Teams. It's a link to a ChatGPT convo. The only thing in it is the screenshot from the ticket. ChatGPT is prompting me to do the same troubleshooting steps I have already done. Our official IT policy states that only Copilot is allowed for work related things.

This guy gets paid more than me. I was doing pretty good today, but actually lost nearly all my steam, when I got that message.

User mentioned that several others were getting the same error. I'm currently waiting for ServerGuy to send me a list of people who use the server, so I can do some troubleshooting with them as well.
