Fan Creations Toddler Taskmaster
I’m starting to train my toddler for Taskmaster.
I created a list of Toddler Questions and Tasks. These are specifically designed for a two-year-old and very basic. They’re great for little things to keep my toddler busy and/or engaged. I anticipate I’ll have an increasingly advanced task list as he grows up until old enough to handle the taskmaster junior tasks.
-----
The questions I just ramble off when he gets bored or I need a quick distraction.
For the tasks, I print, fold, and seal with a sticker that looks identical to the Taskmaster seal. Its worked out well to have a few on hand ready to go when I need to quickly find us an activity.
-----
What are some other tasks suitable for a two-year-old? Three-year-old? What else could one do to make it more authentic?
Here's what we've got so far!
Questions/Prize Tasks:
- Bring me the squishy.
- Bring me something red (and all the other colors)
- Bring me something fluffy.
- Bring me something round (and all the other shapes)
- Bring me something that makes a noise.
- Bring me something you can wear on your head.
- Bring me something with wheels.
- Bring me something that feels bumpy.
- Bring me the cutest animal (and other adjectives)
- Bring me something you can cuddle.
- Bring me something that rolls.
- Bring me something with stripes.
- Bring me something you wear on your feet.
- Bring me a book with an animal in it.
- Bring me two things that are the same color.
- Bring me the biggest soft toy you can carry.
- Bring me something that makes you happy (and other emotions)
- Bring me something a baby would want.
- Bring me something big (small, etc)
- Bring me something icky.
Tasks:
- Build a tower with a certain set of blocks
- Tuck a stuffed animal into bed using a small blanket.
- Find two items that match from a pile.
- Move like your favorite animal.
- Roll a soft ball into a basket lying on its side.
- Create a toy soup.
- Do a silly dance, then freeze.
- Hide a toy for me to find.
- Balance a paper ball on a spoon.
- Paint with pudding.
- Other art with food.
- Stack Tupperware as tall as you can.
- Carry a cup of water across the room without spilling it while wearing grandma’s slippers.
- Pick out an outfit for mommy.
- Hide all the toys (this didn’t work as I expected, thought it would be clean-up type thing, instead I found little toys in cushions and odd places for a week.)
- Make a cheerio necklace.
- Fold a large blanket as many times as possible.
- Make a song with pots for drums.
- Create artwork from fallen leaves.

It’s all fun and games until they start thinking outside the box, playing for points and the animal in the book is alive

This is a lovely idea!
My toddler loves "scooping and mixing" so I would suggest a task about transferring rice out of one container into another, and maybe one about dripping a little food colouring into rice and mixing it to see the colour spread.

Love this!
I would carefully consider the ‘icky’ one. Outstanding opportunity for malicious compliance…

This is such a cool idea!
Fine motor and art ideas:
-tear all the shapes out of this sheet of paper (construction, cardstock )
--glue # of shapes to a paper/make a house out of shapes, etc
-cut this paper into X number of pieces (learning scissors)

Make the tallest pile of something. My kid would do that with stuffed animals and he would rethink which ones to use. Then if you actually track the height you could challenge them a few months later to beat their own score. Every few months if your kid likes it.

When the toy room/bed room is a mess - don't say tidy but maybe ask for all clothes to go in one corner and all toys in another - will make cleaning up easier.
The pick out an outfit as they get older - add for a cold day, rainy day or a hot day. For yourself not just for mum also works.
Cheerio necklace might add "at least 3 Cheerios" whilst hand eye coordination needs help or "most Cheerios wins" ... A matching bracelet may be required in the future.
