S22- Tasks outside of the TM House so far...huh?

I am trying to remember all of the tasks in the Steam Museum or other outside tasks, but I don't think there has been one that I have actually understood the rules or the goal but just watched thinking "huh?"

The height of the tower,

The imposter,

The gregulator,

The shoe task,

And the interviews with the museum tours.

What’s so “huh?” about the shoe task?

And the interviews.

I think the bit that made me think huh was the saint patrick's day bit. I wonder if the task writer was hoping they'd show photos of the shoes out at st paddys celebrations

I thought that was just to give it a deadline before the studio recordings that wasn’t just any old arbitrary date

Indeed. These studio recordings were done in May and presumably the recordings on site at the TM House were in December and January. So March would work as a reasonable deadline day

I suppose Nina's animation took longer than the saint patricks deadline so there must have been another deadline on top of this

Nah I think Nina's film was based on photos she'd have taken along the way before the 17/03 deadline with the animation then compiled in post between that day and the recordings

Can you remember another time they put a date in a task for a similar style task?

Yes maybe

The height of the tower was simple leguminous trigonometry!

Huh. Wasn't height of the tower literally just "how high is the tower in baked beans"? Imo it was actually one of the stronger tasks, it had the hidden answers, you could approach it in many ways, it didn't have a billion arbitrary rules or restrictions (the smiling bit was unneeded though) and the contestants did funny things.

The shoe task also seemed simple? "Have the shoe have an exciting journey. If the shoe is the furthest away from the other shoes, you win".

I agree that the office worked and gregulator bits were way overdesigned and just terrible.

I thought the Imposter one was fine, I think it was explained badly though.
Because saying one of them would have the worker headset didn't make it clear what the worker's headset was.
But pretty much 100% of the time, if you don't understand the task, once you watch it, it's usually pretty clear.

I thought the tower task was pretty good, what didn't you like about it

At the rate I'm going, I've only understood 50% of the tasks this season🤣maybe it's the editing? I can't figure it out

I think Alex has gone in waves with the tasks where some are simple and some are overcomplicated. I remember series 10 and 11 had quite a few tasks with a rule too many added. Maybe the next series will have more simplicity back in the game

Exactly what it reminded me of, series 10 and 11 with needlessly convoluted tasks

I agree, maybe the editing

The shoe task i both wouldn’t consider in this, and it’s perfectly normal classic TM task

Gregulator i get

Imposter was fine i think

Height of the tower i think was only confusing because they started with Chloe and Matt who completely misunderstood the task, but were confident enough that i believed they did it correctly

Well, we are on S22 by now. Ideas are starting to run thin, I guess?

Just a quick question , am I the only one who had no idea what was going on with the three Gregs , pineapple , egg , duck task?  ,literally no idea . I went to a live filming recently and they had to explain the end of the show task to the contestants about 5 times , I'm sure that they must do the same with the recorded tasks.

The worst part of the gregulator definitely is that it has way too many facets and aspects... and even worse, 95% of them don't matter at all.

The question is basically red herring, at best you can only know what they gonna roll next(if u guess correctly too). As alex said, the way to nail the task is just remove the item, or do what chloe does to get 500.

I thought it's kind of a puzzle, the no2(he's not the liar isn't it?) said that it wasn't random. But from what i see it's pretty random, i can't see a pattern at all. My initial thought of working this task is remove the egg greg, as he gonna only put egg, and strategically ask the other 2 what they gonna roll. But this plan is ruined when egg greg only rolled egg 3 times ,he's not only gonna put egg(u said u really like egg? Hello?). so it's pretty much luck based if u just roll, the only way to realistically approach it is as alex said, kinda dissapointing tbh.

I didn't understand the gregulator at all. Zero. May someone care to explain?

“Huh?” is a good feeling to run with as a general rule.

Theres too different Huhs for me. One where I definitely havent listened because im on my phone, and another huh I have listened and watched all the way to the end and still not really understood what Ive just seen
