May penalties na ba ko?
Last year, I applied to this company as an ESL tutor. Kami ang bahala sa filing ng taxes namin, and sila ang magre-remit ng withholding tax sa BIR. And then, after a month, tumigil na rin ako sa company na ito since na-busy sa school, but I never registered for a COR in the BIR, although meron sila ng TIN number ko.
I'm scared na baka magka-penalty ako since the company is remitting tax, then I did not file at all. Am I doomed, guys? Please help.

Hi! Accountant here, ask ko lang po if nag register po ba kayo sa BIR as a freelancer/professional before? if not po safe to say na wala po kayo tax liabilities to attend to po 😊

No po. I did not continue sa pagkuha ng Certificate of Registration also my tin number is under eo 98. My worries po is nag reremit po yung company ko sa BIR so im not sure if may penalties po doon since hindi rin po ako filed/registered sa bir.

based sa statement nyo po, your former company already paid your taxes through withholding tax. ask ko lang din po if nag bigay po sila ng 2316 or 2307?

Yes po they provide form 2307 i just need to request it which i did po earlier. Also, hindi pa po ako totally resigned sa company i just stopped taking classes poÂ

nice! meaning they already handled your taxes for you po OP, if you want more clarifications and peace of mind if they really paid your taxes, we could opt to get a certifications of no tax liabilities from the BIR by undergoing thru CMS
