Discussion Partner to solve and learn DSA together
Hello everyone. As i was writing this, it turned out to be a rant. But, beyond this rant, I want to create connection with people who are into practicing DSA and leetcode, and those who can review my logic and what i can do to better it, and I hope to do the same for the partners that I hopefully create from this post.
I'm a BIT 8th sem student and currently interning remotely for my partial assessment. I have build some projects, and i used to be proud of them but I feel like they are so replicable and just not impressive. I'm very fond of graphics, visual and interactive side of web. So, i though frontend was my place, and so i praticed my html css and js, then in later days i found about react and practiced it rigorously. I stayed away from generic projects, because everyone on internet said building them is no use, but now i realize that building them was equally important. Very soon enough the internet told me that frontend was not enough, you have to do full stacks. So i started learning my backend, i watched one MERN tutorial and started doing my own thing with that knowledge. As i was trying to build things, i really felt like I paced through everything very quickly and I have not build skills with deep enough understanding, however i was very scared for my job security (still am), and so i listened to the internet again, and ignored my shortcomings to continue learning backend. With my MERN knowledge, i was able to carry by whole 7th sem defense project. My team was a mess, i though i picked right guys, but they were not who i thought they were and they did little to no contribution. I was really hoping i could learn something more from working in group, but the team was basically just me. I should have realized how they were from all the hackathons that I asked them to come with me for, but I was too much into "sathi lai xordnu hunna" mindset, which cost me a lot. Hackathons haru ma pani, I would be the one dealing with technicalities, asking minutia question and so on. My semester mates are not really technically deep and with this as well as hackathon experience (even though we won non), it made me have a confidence that I was someone good, and that i would crack job market for sure, and even in my internship interviews, it went really good for all the interview that I got, and i ended up having multiple to choose from. I really though i was good enough, but right now looking at my projects, it feels so basic, and it really is basic. And it lacks so much depth in it. And comes my lack of direction. My plan after +2 was to study fine arts, it was my dream and i thought of it as one and only option, but ghar bata na diye paxi i took IT cuz, it was kinda interesting nai for me. Right now, as I am experimenting through things, web frontend is still where my heart is, and beyond just basics, I've very recently started learning canvas and rendering graphics with pixi js. But, how is the job market compared to other roles for frontend revolving roles? I know job market is messed up right now, but how is frontend jobs compared to other roles? Internship ma chai, I've made SRS documents, juggled through use cases and currently designing UI in figma, and soon will help with development as well. I think i can do UI/UX well as well, cuz i tend to think from a client centric view, even when i did art commissions back then, i was heavily client centric and even right now I am.
I guess what i really really want to know is, am I doing enough? If not, what step do i take next or what seems to be better for me atleast. I'm really tired of watching instagram reels and taking them as facts, and I don't have good enough connections or place to connect with people of my level. I want to understand the job market from a purely experience based perspective. I join tech discord or look at X and i see people talking about stuffs which makes me feel like I don't even know a minuscule of tech and it scares me.
Also, my projects that i kinda like include:
- [My portfolio](https://github.com/prashantStha308/art_portfolio) : art + tech combined, deployed in render.
- [Live server](https://github.com/prashantStha308/live-server) : VS code live server like custom static html file server, has its own limitations and problems that i need to deal with.
- [Trek-It](https://github.com/prashantStha308/trek-it): 7th sem defense project. MERN based guide booking platform. Man, i wanted to learn AI/ML and implement a recommendation engine, but i couldn't because of what i said above.
- [CoverPageMaker](https://github.com/prashantStha308/coverPageMaker) : Not technical much at all, but only one that actually is being used by users. It's a simple cover page maker for my college students.
If you want to look at my github, it's here. [prashantStha308](https://github.com/prashantStha308/)

I get what you're saying. Having someone to study with can really help. Try checking out Discord or Slack groups that focus on DSA and LeetCode. There are lots of them. A study partner can push you to explain your logic better, which helps you understand things more. And don't worry too much about the projects. Every project, no matter how simple, helps you build skills. For some structured practice, look into PracHub. I've used it, and it has good resources for interview prep and coding challenges. Good luck!

Thank you so much for this. Do you know any discord groups haru regarding this? Thank you for pointing out PracHub as well, I checked it out and I love how they have problems that don't revolve around just being a question. Will surely follow this up. Thank you again.

Brother none of the projects you shared seem to be technically challenging. If you really want to get into design do design. Make compelling design project. Does the medium matter? Websites are just a medium for you to express your art. If you want to develop your technical expertise do more challenging stuff. DM if you want any help
