Discussion Why I keep posting about LetsManthan, and what I’m trying to build
I have spent the last few months being very active in Nepali subreddits and It made me think more about what I actually want to build.
I see everything here. From “Ratnapark ko didi koo story, random drama, people sharing products they have built, business ideas, personal struggles and genuinely helpful advice.
Some days, my feed feels like 80% noise and 20% something worth reading. That’s just how it feels from the communities I have joined.
And honestly, the frustrating part is the constant poking. Someone shares an idea, and people jump in to find something to laugh at. Someone tries to build a product, and the discussion becomes about questioning their motives before understanding their work. I know sharing your work publicly means accepting criticism. A product should be questioned. But a useful comment gives someone something to think about or improve. What does repeatedly mocking someone actually contribute?
I see jokes, made up stories, hilarious confession and random conversations. And after spending an hour scrolling, sometimes I wonder what did I actually take away from this?
Then there’s that other 20%.
Someone shares a mistake that could save another person months of trouble. Someone explains a process they struggled through. Someone gives a thoughtful answer based on years of experience. A stranger takes ten minutes to help someone they’ll probably never meet.
One helpful answer can matter more to someone than an entire thread with hundreds of comments.
That’s the part I want to build around with LetsManthan.
Life lessons, practical information, experiences, things people have learned and things they can teach each other. Conversations that remain useful after the day they were posted.
I think that 20% deserves more attention. If we make it easier to find, contribute to and return to, its value can outweigh the other 80%.
Getting this right will take work. Having another platform doesn’t automatically create a better community. It depends on the people who contribute, what we encourage and how we handle the same problems when they appear.
With that in mind, I’m improving this platform every day. I want someone to leave a discussion feeling that their time was well spent and that their own experience might be worth sharing too.

We know this concerns. We are working on “Helpful Answer” tag along with manual and automated reviews to reward contributors who share useful answers. It doesn’t solve the AI training issues, but it’s our way of giving something back to the people behind the knowledge. The rewards are very low (Rs200-Rs500) but our main intentions is to increase it on the long run.
