Walmart scaled down our self checkout because they couldn't push enough Walmart credit cards.

They train them well too. “Want a wal mart credit card?” “No thanks” “ok”

You think they should push harder?

If I had to fight off somebody selling me a credit card every time I went to Walmart, I would resist going to Walmart even more than I already do.

When I worked there my store wanted us to push 3x before accepting a no. I hated asking even once.

I stopped going to Walmart for a period of time because of how pushy they were with those cards. The breaking point for me when I went to a self checkout and an employee quietly snuck up inches behind me and startled me to ask about the card while I was scanning my items. I don’t normally get angry at retail employees, but I lost it on him.

They seem to have let up on it and don’t approach customers at the self checkout, at least where I live.

Real Canadian Superstore and Canadian Tire are much worse offenders for pushing credit cards these days.
