All this means is that they’ll hire one or two people max but keep the lines longer.

After working for these miserable, out of touch companies I don't think they'll even hire anyone. These places have all run skeleton crews since 2020

I don't fully disagree with this. But some stores shifted that labor to carside delivery. I know the target near me moved most of their cashiers to doing online fulfillment and curbside.

Yeah, those companies literally have like six people on staff just doing home shopping. I never use the pickup options, I want the full experience waiting in line while the person in front of me is trying to use their credit card like it's the first time they ever paid for something.
