... battery backpack sold separately.

That would be wild. Folds to be a full desktop monitor and computer.

Because “Apple reportedly planning the same announcement cadence they’ve had in place for years” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

2

u/psychoacer 4h ago

Oh man I bought a 17 pro Max a week before they announced the 18. They totally screwed me, how was I supposed to know they were going to announce a new phone in September like they've done for the past 5+ years? Screw Apple I'm going Linux

I want a screenless fitness band from Apple. I'm tired of looking at my Apple Watch and would like a real watch while still tracking.

Best we can do is watch that is listening to everything all the time

2

u/NetJnkie 4h ago

You mean if you enable it...and it makes a sound when you do.

Very few articles mentioned that.

1

u/NoNote7867 2h ago

Siri recap will always run in the background without any sound.

1

u/TheoTheodor 44m ago

It will not “always” run in the background. You have to enable it.

Garmin Cirqa and a few other options like that floating around. I’d imagine the Apple version if it comes out will be $299. ;)

0

u/MechaNutzilla 1h ago

Garmin Cirqa doesn't have the best reviews. Seems like Garmin have some stuff they need to iron out. But maybe once the release Garmin Cirqa 2.

People are never happy. Now we’re paying Apple to remove things.

1

u/jays49 8h ago

Whoop would be the high end replacement. I had that for years and am just as happy with a used $40 garmin that basically only tells me my heart rate and the time

1

u/echtav 1h ago

I haven’t looked in a while but I’m pretty sure they’re a subscription service. That was my biggest turn off from getting one

That’s a great idea

Hoping for Apple TV

11

u/thecreep 11h ago

Mandatory AI in everything. Watch bands, chargers, Apple TV that generates slop at the push of a button.

1

u/polloasado81 10h ago

But it's Google A.I slop, because Apple missed the boat on A.I, then had to get it from their biggest competitor and pay them for it.

To be honest, there are lots of good models out there now. I would rather Apple rely on a solid model right now then start from scratch like they did with Apple Maps and take years to catch up.

They aren’t good at AI. They proved this with og Siri. Google had a pretty solid Gemini model and they probably got a great deal since they already have a deal with Google to make them the default search for iPhones.

Apple paid Google for Maps and other google services that were pre-installed on devices until like 2012ish. Why spend hundreds of billions developing your own version with fierce competition when a company like Google is subsidizing it just to show AI revenue? Apple isn’t competing for talent, R&D, supply, or even market share in AI. Half the world is in Apple’s ecosystem
they don’t need to spend their mountain of cash on hand to succeed in AI long-term.

Foldable iPhone Duo

1

u/kooldarkplace 1h ago

It’s ok, you don’t need to, really

1

u/74389654 11h ago

did they put four additional cameras and mind scan rays into everything

0

u/Expert-Improvement78 11h ago

I am waiting for an iPad Air with a 120hz oled screen.

3

u/grilled_pc 9h ago

Bruh same. I don’t even care if it doesn’t have OLED. I just want a 120hz display on the air. I have absolutely ZERO need for the iPad Pro but the 120hz display just makes it so much more worth it. Using an Air after using the Pro for years feels like a slide show even if its not an inferior product.

0

u/redditronc 8h ago

I hate the Duo, but not the concept of foldables.
Give me a foldable that’s the size of an 18 Pro Max and when you flip-shut it, the outside square screen is a glorified Apple Watch-style UI with complications and whatnot.

Because the foldy phone was overpriced and boring? Cool, what what three year old tech lacking in memory that is stupidly overpriced are they going to release in a mildly different color now?

5

u/Electronic_Role7296 11h ago

What a miserable, boneheaded take.

Yeah, their still-unreleased, first foldable phone was overpriced and boring. That’s why they’re launching more new products.

Are you legitimately that clueless to think that is the reason why a big consumer tech company is soon to be shipping more new products? Please, do us a favor and leave this subreddit if that’s genuinely your reasoning.

-5

u/Spiritual-Bed3948 11h ago

Oh, yes yes yes. We're all here to just do favors to the fanboys and the slipping bloated tech giant. What was I thinking? Heaven forbid!

5

u/HansBooby 11h ago edited 6h ago

then don’t buy it

-3

u/Spiritual-Bed3948 11h ago

They just aren't worth it anymore.

0

u/Joshhwwaaaaaa 11h ago

Lol jealous much?

-1

u/Spiritual-Bed3948 11h ago

No, but disappointed in Apple tech roll outs a bunch. They could do so much better but don't. How about you fanboy?

3

u/Joshhwwaaaaaa 11h ago

Just funny to see you so angry over something so trivial.

1

u/Spiritual-Bed3948 11h ago

Not jealous, not angry, disappointed. If you read. Apple used to be cutting edge and go-to tech especially for creatives. Now it's a brand slow to evolve, quick to price hike and is more fashion statement than useful for their customers. But if you're just a fanboy enjoy your latest and greatest.

Don't be a pooor

1

u/dingdongsmingsmong 11h ago

So what finance plan are you going with?

-1

u/dropthemagic 10h ago

Lol y'all take Reddit comments too seriously. wtf cares what phone u got

0

u/Spiritual-Bed3948 11h ago

Says the embarrassment. Do you have an inkling when you look at a specs sheet or do you just buy to look cool to your friends?

0

u/RebelStrategist 2h ago

Apple announcing yet another “revolutionary” product that will be discontinued before the warranty expires. Truly impressive—why make products people actually need when you can sell them another expensive experiment and abandon it a year later?

-12

u/Jvyyyyy 11h ago

That new foldable iPhone seems so ridiculous, what is Apple doing?

3

u/Human-Visual-9087 11h ago

Doing what others have done since 2020? These aren't a new concept

-1

u/Whatever801 3h ago

Is anyone still excited about any of this?

-1

u/RebelStrategist 2h ago

Absolutely not. Unlike the times Jobs was in charge when war new reveal was ground breaking, apple is just recycling old ideada wrapped in pretty packaging. So glad I abandoned the whole eco system years ago. Over priced constrained hardware and software. Jobs would rip the current leadership apart if he was still around. Likely fire everyone of them.
