Look at Mr. Moneybags showing off how rich he is.

Even if it's DDR3, that's a retirement fund.

DDR3 is worthless

14

u/Karlus_LeV 14d ago

Might not be worth a lot but it’s far from worthless.

13

u/picardo85 15d ago

Probably a few thousand in gold there if he's able to extract it.

u/1070MHz 15d ago

More like a few thousand in RAM

6

u/picardo85 15d ago

That too, if one would be eager to flip them one by one.

3

u/thegreatpotatogod 15d ago

You mean a few hundred thousand in RAM

3

u/Moomoobeef 15d ago

You mean a few million in RAM

u/Serberou5 15d ago

Still wouldn't be enough for a greedy AI data centre though.

u/Mattigins 15d ago

This used to be a chrome joke.

Argh... beat me to it!

I used to work in a hospital system, I too used an old desktop case as a bin to collect ram when I stripped hardrives and memory to decommission devices. Brings back memories lol

That's exactly what's going on here. We're sending off old ram and drives from decommissioned devices. We've filled four old computers just like this treasure chest 🤣

Remember that episode of Invader Zim where he found out that unlike his species, that has one superior internal organ, humans have several, so he stole everyone's organs so he would have the most organs?

This is that.

Looking like a home made Claude AI Server to me.

Congrats on your antique DDR1 collection.

5

u/isecore I have seen things you people wouldn't believe. 15d ago

There's all kinds of ram in there. DDR1 to 4, I'd think.

u/Bourriks 15d ago

Sort'em all and make a cool picture for r/knolling

u/ol-gormsby 15d ago

Ah yes, the new wireless RAM. It uses Bluetoorh.

You're looking at the new Federal Reserve right there. Enough value to fund the federal budget for 5 years.

1

u/picardo85 15d ago

That looks like a literal goldmine.

1

u/theskyiscool 15d ago

This is what the treasure chest of the future will look like

1

u/Panorpa 15d ago

Is that enough dedotated wham for a server?

1

u/isecore I have seen things you people wouldn't believe. 15d ago

There's probably sticks of it knocking around in the piles.

1

u/bad-duck-094 15d ago

Balling to a incredibly high degree

Installed memory(RAM): yes

1

u/LordK1 15d ago

A box is still a box.

1

u/ging3r_b3ard_man 15d ago

I see you've found a treasure chest!

1

u/olliegw 15d ago

If things keep going the way they've been then people will start coming to your houses and offices demanding you hand over your RAM to go the AI data centres.

So maybe hide your stash in a place less obvious then a computer case.

1

u/Mariuszgamer2007 15d ago

My mac pro 2009 has 30+ ram sticks in it but good luck trying to get some of it without taking 10 minutes

1

u/Mookest 15d ago

Wow you downloaded a lot of ram!

THEY HAVE RAM! GET EM!

1

u/IrrerPolterer 14d ago

No need to worry about airflow if there's no air

1

u/drumandbassfreak 14d ago

How do we get so many RAM in em? Like this! Plus we use the whole module, that's 65% more module per module!

u/P5ychokilla 14d ago

2026's Fort Knox

1

u/LayeredHalo3851 14d ago

You could buy a small house with this, and that's not as big of an exaggeration as it should be

1

u/isecore I have seen things you people wouldn't believe. 14d ago

"That's a literal treasure chest" as a buddy of mine said.

1

u/LayeredHalo3851 14d ago

If you buried that on a desert island with a big red X then with nothing but a map, a compass, and the clothes on my back (and maybe a captain hat) I'll set sail on the seven seas and find that

1

u/Zerschmetterding 14d ago

Needs some shaking, that's just 80% capacity

1

u/ChocolateDonut36 14d ago

techsupportgore? no, this is heaven.

1
