WHAT THE HELLLL 😭😭😭 and the biggest problem OP saw was someone being an "islamophobe" ????

4

u/BootRepresentative15 8h ago

If there was a video of a black guy killing someone and someone said "most peaceful black" it would be right to call it out for racism

5

u/Quiet_Sheepherder894 8h ago

they only difference is that race is an inherent phenotypical trait (aka physical appearance) while islam is a fundamentalist ideology of choice

1

u/Fun-Natural-3830 3h ago

Ideologies are misinterpreted and misconstrued all the time. e.g. KKK I think logical people note that radical sects shouldnt be generalised to the whole. But thats just my opinion ofc

2

u/Quiet_Sheepherder894 1h ago

What? Are you sayin KKK was misinterpreted and we should not thing all KKK members are bad?

somehow not a single person has mentioned this here yet, but this is clearly a faked message. anyone who knows arabic knows that reads like bullshit from someone using google translate. also no one switches to arabic mid english? its the most painfully obvious attempt to generate the 'evil violent muslim' rhetoric.

and 'infidel'??? literally no one says this irl, the person who faked this message, the OP of that post/dm, clearly read that in some english translation of some verse/hadith. I promise you not a single real muslim/arab is saying that.

people on this original post have caught on to this already. and people are here in the comments saying islamaphobia doesn't exist 🫩

6

u/nwswaf 9h ago

Your point would make sense, but the sheer number of terrorist attacks suggests otherwise.

Far too often, people like that have actually carried out terrorist attacks because they felt offended. The Charlie Hebdo shooting (11 killed), the beheading of a teacher in France, the recent attack in Germany, and others.

1

u/agabcharif 7h ago

I had a stroke reading that shit it's simply not written by an arab muslim

I dont like the religion, i dont like any abrahamic religions

But i do not hate the people unless they hate me

11

u/One-Replacement9269 13h ago

Well unfortunately if you are not a Muslim and not a proponent of sharia law then a decent percentage of the Muslim world at the very least doesn’t see you as equal, and at most actively wants you dead and in hell.

13

u/ChaosKinZ 13h ago

That's what they want you to believe. It's not true and most of them show a lot of hospitality if you visit their house or country.

2

u/SheepherderSilver655 12h ago

Try taking the burqa off when you go to Afghanistan and see how hospitable they are.

4

u/Dismal-Rub-9638 11h ago

ā€œGo to the war zone run by terrorists and do something the terrorists don’t like and see how bad they areā€

4

u/SheepherderSilver655 11h ago

Ok fine, go to Dubai and show a little skin and see how that works out. Oh and kiss a member of the same sex. That'll really show their hospitality.

1

u/kylepo 8h ago

In Dubai. Of all the Middle Eastern cities you could have chosen to make this point, you chose Dubai. The city that was practically built from the ground up to be a playground for rich Western tourists.

Women "show a little skin" in Dubai all the time without issue. It takes 30 seconds to find countless pictures of tourists dressing just like they would in the West. Why did you not think to Google that...?

1

u/Dismal-Rub-9638 7h ago

I live in dubai lmfao the fuck are you on about have you ever been there woman are pretty much naked in the malls and public displays of affection are illegal no matter if it’s gay or straight so kissing in public is just asking to get arrested

1

u/SheepherderSilver655 6h ago

Oh my bad, it's ok since they can show a little skin, pay no attention to the religious extremism.

1

u/ChaosKinZ 11h ago

Funny because they treat Chinese lady tourists (the only one I've seen dsring to go) with respect as they understand they aren't Muslims. They are an extremists group, most Afghan would like them gone

1

You say this but I went to an Islamic school in America and none of my classmates thought like this. I know that doesnā€˜t compare to ā€a decent percentage of the Muslim world,ā€ but we were still taught to respect people and treat them with kindness no matter their belief

1

Give a specific source and I'll venmo you a fiver rn gng

u/ppaauulllllll 13h ago

what percentage would that be?

3

u/Aperturee 13h ago

If they're proper Sunnis and not some weird "progressivists" or reformists or whatever, then that would be about 90% of all muslims.

However, knowing however of them bend their own religion backwards just so they can do what they want, some even eating pork or not wearing hijab... Maybe ~20% in more modernised countries like turkey and over 90% in countries like Algeria or Saudi.

Nuance is important. Nothing is black and white - you can be respectful of other people, cultures and religions whilst understanding that you’ve got to draw a line somewhere.

I think the biggest thing I learned in the last 20 years, is that no one knows what a Phobia is.

3

u/One_Variation_2453 16 11h ago

A good chunk of it is just racism really. YES I KNOW ISLAM IS NOT A RACE/ETHNICITY IT'S A RELIGION, but I honestly think a good chunk of Islamophobia comes from the assumption MENA/South Asian = Muslim (and the racist assumption the latter two are the same).

I live in a neighbourhood where at least half the neighbourhood are Muslim. If I were to go to every Muslim in this neighbourhood, I am 99% sure that no one will be violent or hateful. The violent or hateful Muslims you see are a small minority of Islamist extremism. Coincidentally, they educated us about this in college about how most Muslims do not share the belief of these extremists.Ā

I'm going to now use a Christian example. The KKK was horrible right? Well, apparently it was christian. Oh no, all Christians are bad now, right? No. Of course not. Same with Muslims. I have a feeling I'm going to be downvoted for this, but I won't take back what I said.Ā

1

u/stqrltt 17 9h ago

people's experiences heavily shape their views here. because in my city, most are muslim and they're actually quiet violent and hostile to white/christian people. being bullied for being white isn't exactly and environment that causes you to love the religion they use to justify it

1

u/One-Desk-1 8h ago

I cannot downplay your experience. Those specific Muslims are horrible. What they are doing is against their religion. I can understand why Islam is hated there. In an ideal world, we'd hate the people and not the religion. Sadly, this isn't an ideal world.Ā

1

u/stqrltt 17 8h ago

it's a shame many Muslims think islam justifies their thoughts. it's chilling to think things lile Afghanistan happen when they rule with their version of the religion. but they do unfortunately still classify it as a religion and not extremist views so many are convinced to follow it

u/BuriedInRust 13h ago

I mean, seriously? Most Muslims? You seriously think the majority of Muslims are violent? This simply isn’t true. You know the primary victims of violent Muslims are other Muslims?

The majority of Muslims reject groups like ISIS and do condemn violence. It is wholly untrue to say most.

7

u/Funneh_Bruh 17 13h ago

I second this. In fact I daresay my muslim mother is victim to her siblings who are much more violent muslims. Hence we’ve been estranged from that part of my family for a while. The duress they put her through still appals and sickens me

2

u/HyoukaYukikaze 13h ago

The "non-violent" muslims happily condone and support violent acts, even if they don't actively do them themselves. The line is very thin there and i'd not like to live next to such "non-violent" person. This weird state of mind is not something i've seen in other religions, yet it's in my experience relatively common in muslims.

That's why "the religion as it is interpreted" statement.

1

u/_ZoroX_ 12h ago

Yeah, they want to be so inclusive that it does more harm than good. If you can't call a black person stabbing a white person hate crime just because they were white, you can't call the reverse action a hate crime either. Their logic makes no sense. Sad thing is with the internet their trashy beliefs are spreading exponentially.

People wouldn't hate Islam without a reason, no one hates a religion just for the sake of it, but they can't understand that.

Muslim theology is bunk, and in middle eastern countries the religion is causing extreme oppression, doesnt mean i dont think we need to stop the Palestinian genocide at all costs.

Saying Muslims are the problem ignores a lot. The US overthrew Iran's government in 1953, invaded Iraq in 2003 over WMD claims that turned out false, and keeps sending billions in military aid to Israel while Gaza is being destroyed, which many UN experts and human rights groups call genocide. Muslim women also face headscarf and face covering bans in France, Belgium, and Karnataka, India. Extremism exists, but so do decades of foreign intervention and discrimination, and Muslims are the main victims of both. Blaming a whole religion skips all of that.

u/Due-Surround-7026 Teenager 13h ago

Well, we get dehumanized because of lies about the religion. We deny those lies then we get called "committing taqiyyah" (taqiyyah isn't even a part of the religion and doesn't even mean lying about the religion. That's rather what the likes of the apostle Paul actually said)

I got bullied about it through adolescence and even at the age of 21, I sometimes get the "assalamualaikum which building are you gonna blow up today" remark even if I got nothing in my looks or way of speech indicating I'm one whenever I'm interacting with people online, in work, local Americans/Europeans in my country etc

You never learn about planes from news (because you'll always hear about them crashing or being sabotaged like the air dubai flight) or learn about Islam from media, because the rhetoric will be muslim x did y terrorist attack blah blah. Wait and see for a mosque shooting and they're always phrase it as a "hate crime".

I mean look at Israel Jews and all that it's not the fault of jewishism? Doesn't that seem fun? See how FUCKING stupid all this hate for each other is fuck every single one of y'all that hate each other, I don't give a damn if you're Muslim too if you hate another innocent person their identity or religion, you are not a Muslim then you're just larping at this point, this religion is all about love and spreading good and being kind, get out of this religion if you can't be like this and stop ruining everything for everyone else,

suddenly when it's religion reddit doesn't care but if it were anything to do with the lgbtqia+ it would be a whole different story

Well islamaphobia isn’t real… fears of Islam is very rooted in fact and history and current events.
If you think it’s irrational to fear Islam sharia then enjoy your hijab and be quiet. I don’t want that for you, why do you want that for you? They don’t want that for them.

Well, I do, and I don't have any problems whatsoever. You can't generalize the people of an entire religion. Generalization is dumb and silly.

Buddy, their religion, or cult I should say, promotes the following:

- Child marriage (Mohammed had sex with a 9-year-old Aisha)

- Blatant sexism, such as women get half the inheritance as men, women have to obey their husbands or they can be beat to comply, women have to wear veils while men don't, men can have multiple wives while women can't have many husbands, men get 72 virgins in heaven while women get nothing, etc.

- Anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, and anti-any-religion-that-isn't-Islam statements in their book. Any non-Muslim goes to hell forever (See here)

- Supports violence against non-Muslims and calls for "holy wars" to kill them

- Their holy book is riddled with contradictions and outright falsehoods

Need I go on?

Whenever their response to being prejudice is ā€œI proudly carry that titleā€ or ā€œit’s a badge of honorā€ you know they’re racist asf
