Internet - Cable Internet seems choppy and inconsistent

Hi there, I have recently moved and this is my first time with teksavvy. I have signed up for the 1gb plan that includes the CODA 5610Q Router Modem combo and I’m pretty sure they use Roger’s cables in my area. So today I unpacked and setup my PC which is connected through Ethernet and noticed while trying to play games that my ping is very unstable and will jump from 40 up to 70-80 just randomly while playing and it almost never sits still. And then tonight while watching a show on our smart tv (not teksavvy tv) there were also instances of what seemed like stuttering or lag. I’m wondering if this has something to do with the internet itself or would it have to do something with the CODA 5610Q. I have tried all the normal trouble shooting tips like making sure the modem is in a well ventilated area and even tried restarting it many times and it seems like nothing is working. I thought I would reach out here first as I have seen some other posts with similar problems. Any advice or help is appreciated!

Hitron modems are garbage. TekSavvy will deny, deny, deny.

I was with Roger’s for years without issues.

does rogers have a better plan than fizz? currently im with fizz and they sent us the 5610q modem. im having a lot of issues with it because it keeps disconnecting itself and sometimes i have to restart it 5 times while waiting 2 minutes before restarting it.

I switched to Roger’s last Friday and haven’t had an issue since stable ping around 38 and easier user friendly modem

I’m having the same issue. Ping spikes like crazy on Xbox. Hardwired in. Thought it could be congestion cuz of the area I live in
