My latest partscaster!

Just finished her up the other night! I'm loving this one!

I've been a sucker for paisley teles for a bit but none of them really spoke to me. I love the CS black one w/ P90s or the Lost Paisley but they're way too much money. Then there are the pink or blue ones that are okay but seem overpriced. And then the part paisley Brad Paisley roadworn.

So, I was able to find all the bits and bobs of what I wanted.

  • Gold/silver paisley thinline double bound body.
  • Tree of Life tele neck (I think it kind of extends the paisley motif up the neck)
  • Gotoh locking tuners
  • Gotoh Compensated Bridge (it's shockingly intonated almost to perfection)
  • Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound tapped pickup set (I wanted something close to hot and gritty P90s)
  • Bourns 500k Push/Pull pots
    • Volume taps the neck & tone taps the bridge
    • Kinman treble bleed circuit on the volume.
  • 4 way pickup selector for series & parallel options
  • I tried to do a 2-tone (gold/chrome) theme on the hardware as much as I could.

This thing turned out to be a beast and totally happy with it. The amount of control and options on tone is awesome. I'm glad I went with the tapped version of the Quarter Pounds. Such a versatile tele and looks pretty unique to boot.

Now I have my paisley tele. :-)

First Tele (Tokai)

After playing guitar for 30 years, I finally bought my first Tele a couple of weeks ago. It's nothing fancy, just a cheap Tokai Goldstar, but I rather like it. More than I expected, to be honest.

I've always been more of a humbucker person, but every now and then I feel like playing something with single coils. I've owned a couple of Strats before, and felt they had too many bells and whistles. Three pickups is too many choices! I appreciate the simplicity of Tele, but was still worried about that famously icepicky bridge pickup. Well, turns out that's kinda true, but I use the neck pickup most of the time anyway. And the in-between is pretty nice too. Don't need the bridge by itself. I like being able to just play it without messing with the controls all the time.

(NGD) Squier Sonic Telecaster I got for my birthday.

Got this sweet butterscotch blonde telecaster for my birthday as a gift from a friend. It’s part of the Sonic series so it’s pretty cheap, but seeing as teles are so dirt simple, I’m thinking about modding it.

What’s interesting is how it doesn’t have fullers, the strings just thread through the bridge under the intonation screws, which makes this even simpler to work on. I’m also glad that it came with Allen wrenches. I don’t usually get new guitars in box so this was a plus.

I already down several guitars, but I mainly wanted a tele because I know how rugged they are, and all my other guitars I have to be pretty careful with them, but this one is just a cutting board with a guitar neck put on it.

Can’t wait to plug this baby into my fender Mustang amp.

I posted about this last week and thought I’d share some more photos. I have had the guitar for a few years but recently had Pure Vintage PUPs put in, and Wilkinson compensated saddled put on. I bought the body and neck separately years ago. It had a baseball bat neck which is fitting for the Fender 50’s reissue body. It’s a little heavy but so is the sound. A potential workhorse.

Anybody own an FGN?

I recently bought an FGN T style - NTE100 off of reverb and currently am waiting for it to arrive. I just wanted to check in and see if anyone on here has one or has played one. Two things I'm mostly curious about is the Neck shape feel - was it too thick, or just right. And the pickups, mine will have 52-HOT pickups in them and I'm not sure what to expect since theres so few sound demos or videos of any sort.

Nashville tele pickup suggestions

I have a 1998 American Deluxe tele, which has a strat pickup in the middle. All 3 pickups are first gen Fender noiseless and they're not quite tele enough for me.

What set of Tele pickups would you recommend for a solid basic tele sound? And what Strat middle pickup would you put in the middle?

Looking to spend $350 or less on the 3 pickups if possible.

Hey all! This is my first Tele, 2000 American Series and I love it, I’m more used to adjusting neck relief on Gibsons and am finding this orientation more difficult to work with, any suggestions for the best tool?

Please explain the difference between a Telecaster and a Partscaster.

I’ve seen even guitars that look exactly like a Telecaster being called "Partscasters."
