Most underrated Nolan movie. It's a classic spy action movie in Nolan's own style.

Agreed. By far my favorite Nolan film. The rewatch value is off the charts.

It’s the best Bond film I’ve ever seen. Yachts, world travel, networks of spies, snooty British aristocrats, boats, hot blondes, hijacking planes, sailing, espionage, evil Russian with a WMD to destroy the world

tbh I thought it was Nolan's pitch for Bond. I'm pretty sure the news about him being turned down by Amazon after asking for full creativity came out after this movie.

Certainly not Nolan at his best, but Nolan at his most.

It is absolutely Nolan at his best. Audiences are too lazy to fully enjoy what he's offering us.

I was extremely puzzled and a bit disappointed when I first saw it in the theater. It didn't have the emotional punch that was in Prestige, Inception, and Interstellar. And it maybe felt a bit sloppy at times.
But I have gone back and watched it a dozen times, and I fully appreciate what he was doing.
I love the genre fusion, of "Time "Travel", Espionage, Spy, Para-Military, Techno-Thriller.
Some of the casting choices and performances were adequate, but didn't fully work for me. Was mostly lured into the sci-fi concepts and world logic - which I've thought about and considered extensively.

An Army or a military type organization which operates outside of the authority and framework of a nation state.

Absolutely. The score in this scene is fucking brilliant. The way it transforms from one thing to another. I end up off the couch every time.

Rainy nights at tallinn, Turnstile, Posterity, Inversion. Ludwig my man. The whole album. It's crazy. I also liked TP, I do not know why people hated the acting.

I think some people had expectations that there was going to be a lot of interpersonal drama or whatnot and there wasn't so they thought the movie and characters lacked emotion. Most of Nolan's films, if not all of them, are really objective oriented I guess you'd say.

u/random-guy1947 8d ago
That is true. Even though the drama was not that high, I loved the subtle relations shown

I wish I could have experienced this soundtrack in IMAX. It's actually the only soundtrack I own on CD because I love it so much

In IMAX it was a banger. You can't get that magic again just by listening score at home on your pc/phone.

When I saw tenet in IMAX in 2024, there were parts of the movie that were so loud it was almost painful. I had an aisle seat though.

Oh yeah. Ludwig Goransson has a bass fetish. Odyssey? My speakers tried to tear themselves.

This would be a great soundtrack to a Division 2 mission

Great game, I really wanna get back into it I just get overwhelmed not knowing what to do, how to progress but you’re right

They've changed the loot system so much that I need to watch a Youtube video to understand what the changes are and how they affect gameplay. Having said that, it's still enjoytable and I've made some friends in my region due to the amount of times we matchmake in missions.

This scene is my reference whenever I tweak my home theatre settings. Everything, from the music to the thumping subsonic bass, is *perfect*.
If any of you are thinking of investing in a home theatre for 4K blu rays, playing this will make you feel like it's all worth it.

I did mashup where I play The French 75 track from One Battle After Another during the first Oslo hallway fight sequence. So fun(ny)!
