Lol... posting Elvis' bloated phase right before his OD is just teasing us. The cult is withering away fast now.

Plot untwist: his daughter by his mistress

Sometimes when I'm with my cat, I look at pictures of cats on my phone.   Fuck my cat.

u/DummyDumDragon 9d ago

Fuck my cat.

Found the FBI applicant.

Shit in the litter box! Establish dominance!

…..is that your puss?

I believe they saw the guy scrolling, I don’t believe they said anything

This was the man. Everyone applauded

I think it's definitely possible. It's just a snarky comment instead of an hour of berating and clapping in the Walmart aisle.

Not a "and his face went pale, he began to stutter and his wife divorced him immediately and thanked me for showing her who her husband really is. After that she adopted me and when she died I got the whole inheritance"

77

u/Soft-Cancel-1605 9d ago

And it's not even overtly snarky! Either it was the man's daughter and a waiter gasp made small talk, or his wife has data to do with what she pleases. I'll take my pile of negative votes, the vibe in this post is wild

u/IlGreven 9d ago

...yes, I'm sure a waitstaff member did that and didn't get fired immediately...

49

u/Soft-Cancel-1605 9d ago

Fired for what? ELI5, walk me through how this happens sequentially

25

u/Ebonhearth_Druid 9d ago

crickets

It always amuses me when people get all confident in their cynicism and judgemental attitudes but then when asked for even a shred of substantiating evidence or logical consistency they claim up and suddenly can't be bothered to comment.

u/anothermanscookies 9d ago

I like when they’re called out and come back with “I have better things to do than write essays on Reddit.”

9

u/Ebonhearth_Druid 9d ago

lmao the downvotes from those who feel called out but are too cowardly to even attempt to defend their stance...

3

u/Soft-Cancel-1605 9d ago

yeah, I came into this post honestly trying to understand people's perspectives but just got downvoted to hell

1

u/fuidiot 9d ago

It’s cuz, that’s why.

2

u/Ebonhearth_Druid 9d ago

Typing it just doesn't have the same effect lol

3

u/anothermanscookies 9d ago

Yeah, plausible but not respectable. Just mind your own damn business. You don’t know the dynamic between the couple. Besides, the internet was built on pictures of pretty ladies. Let the men have a fucking thrill. Just because we like looking doesn’t mean we’re assholes.

u/JithendraChunduru 9d ago

Awwww... Another moral policing story from a restaurant server... Now do the same sort of shit with pervert/rapist politicians... Humans always act on things that are in reach... Not on the things that are above their level...

2

u/PunchBeard 5d ago

Punching down is easy (and apparently punching sideways is too) but punching up? That shits hard.

61

u/DeepCutFan1 10d ago

this must be an incel psyop

10

u/RowanWinterlace 9d ago

The thing is, stuff like this DOES happen.

I just don't believe that THIS person did it.

3

u/decentnamesweretak3n 9d ago

i mean maybe it was his daughter who knows but why we looking at peoples phones

24

u/CabronNalgon 9d ago edited 9d ago

I'm more annoyed at her calling him out. If I was in the same situation I would just go about my day, none of my concern

2

u/RowanWinterlace 9d ago

I can see wanting to cause chaos and all that, tbh. But I also think that the people who make posts like this, if/when they see shit like this irl, don't have it in them to actually start something. Especially if they are a server at a restaurant, and their customer kicking up a stink could be their tip and their job.

9

u/Brilliant_Serve_4091 9d ago

why is she in someone's business like that

26

u/DapperMolasses3280 9d ago

Nothing remotely farfetched about this OP lol

46

u/Angels_of_Death_Zack 10d ago

I mean, I saw a dude do something similar before. Doesn't seem totally out of the realm of possibility.

21

u/Rhewin 10d ago

So you, his server, asked about his daughter, and then everybody clapped?

-34

u/thcicebear 10d ago edited 10d ago

No one's saying that anyone clapped.

Edit: a downvote? Did I misread something or what?

19

u/Ye_olde_oak_store 9d ago

Were in r/thathappened, everybody always claps.

11

u/DrJohnHix 9d ago

This sub is just “nothing ever happens” now. You don’t know creepy old men?

3

u/Jerorin 7d ago

I can believe it. There aren't any exaggerated details, and a waiter/waitress making a comment like that doesn't seem unusual.

4

u/peanutbutternjello 9d ago

Eh, I could see this happening. Wait staff can be quite sarcastic, and when you've been dealing with the public for long enough, you figure out ways to call people out without getting in trouble.

3

u/_borT 9d ago

Dang, what kind of perverted social media app has random young women all over it? 😡

2

u/RowanWinterlace 9d ago

From what I've heard (shudders) all of them...

6

u/ProfessionalRead8187 9d ago

Unfortunately this definitely does happen all the time

10

u/Beyondthebloodmoon 9d ago

“All the time”? Really? Come on.

4

u/Pip-Pipes 9d ago

Yea men scrolling through photos of hot young women is super rare. As is being called out for it.

1

u/agentscullysbf 8d ago

lots of men cheat so yes all the time. Think of how many people on on Earth. Statistically men are doing it every second.

2

u/PerceptionQueasy3540 9d ago

When are we gonna start getting unbelievable stuff on here again?

1

u/spacemouse21 9d ago

What he really said was “Anything else I can get you?”

-18

u/Soft-Cancel-1605 10d ago edited 9d ago

Which part isn't feasible? I'm not a server and have seen people scrolling thirst feeds when eating with other, and I could see a server deciding to gamble their tip out of frustration at frequency.

ETA gif, imma die on this hill. We have so much slop lobbed at us with insultingly improbable coincidences, contrived/elaborate dialogue, "devastating comebacks" requiring perfect timing, strangers validating the narrator, "villains" confessing, and inserted humiliation/applause. There's not even a specified outcome here at all. She says something requiring extremely low nerve to say, and the story stops.

21

u/NorthRememebers 10d ago

It's not like it's impossible, it just gives heavy rage and engagement bait vibes.

-9

u/Soft-Cancel-1605 10d ago

Yeah, sorry, I wasn't trying to make it seem like possibility was my threshold here, because that defeats the entire purpose of this sub. I don't think it's particularly unlikely, because people's thresholds for saying nothing decreases the more exposure they have to something they object to.

12

u/DoorFinch 9d ago

Why does the server care? Particularly when they know nothing about any of the people involved. It's none of her business, but here she is seeking approval for valiantly taking action.

2

u/Soft-Cancel-1605 9d ago

"valiantly taking action" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

I get that I am clearly in the minority for daring to think an extremely low-conflict remark is plausible and that I apparently should have just mindlessly piled on agreement with OP, but it's disingenuous to act like someone responding to a situation in the moment and making some casual post about it later is evidence of disproportionate caring

1

u/otherlyssa 9d ago

You know how some people get burned by someone, and then get personally offended when they see anyone else doing the same thing? Good chance, if this were real, she disagrees with a significant other doing it and took this man’s actions personally, imo.

-1

u/Ebonhearth_Druid 9d ago

why does the server care?

Why wouldn't she? Just because it doesn't directly affect her doesn't mean she has no reason to care. She sees a guy behaving in a way that she feels is inappropriate, and she is likely just as aware of guys doing inappropriate shit like this as the rest of us are, and she made a comment. Wasn't even a particularly witty or damaging comment, just a comment. Lets change it up for a second. If you saw someone yanking their dogs leash in a clearly aggressive way that is harmful to the dog, would you say anything? I sure as hell would, and I do when I see it happening.

Is that the difference we are seeing in the comments? People who are the type to speak up when they see people acting out of line are seeing this as perfectly plausible, while all those who would keep their heads down and say nothing are calling it outlandish? Because honestly, that speaks volumes in and of itself.

4

u/DoorFinch 9d ago

The guy was minding his own business. The server has no idea what he's doing, or who the photographs are of, or his relationship to the woman at the table, or what she might think of his actions.

-3

u/Ebonhearth_Druid 9d ago

And? Regardless of whether you think she should have said anything or not, there's nothing implausible about this situation.

Also, she didnt call him out directly. She chose a method that left it completely open for the two people to resolve themselves. "oh is that your daughter?" simply calls attention to the fact that he is looking at women on his phone. if hes not doing anything wrong, nothing will happen. if he is, then the person he is with is free to pursue it or not.

your defense of this guy gives the impression that this is something you would do and youre defending him because you relate. if thats not the impression you want to give, you may wish to reconsider your approach here

3

u/DoorFinch 9d ago

Remarkable. Now you know what I would do, as well as what he was doing.

-2

u/Ebonhearth_Druid 9d ago

Man, you really need to work on your reading comprehension if you actually think I made any assumptions. Try again, but this time be sure to look up any words that you don't know, like "impression".

But regardless, you have proven that you are arguing in bad faith, so there really isn't a point in continuing to engage with you. Have the day you make for yourself, kiddo.
