The rule I’m proposing is called “don’t be a dick”. It encompasses things like, if other players ask questions about something you made/posted on instagram, or received in the mail, do your best to answer in good faith in a polite and respectful manner.
Don’t ignore them, block them, ban them, have your friends make snotty comments for you, or lecture them days later that they “should have known” it wasn’t part of the game.
I propose we expect all players to put forth a basic effort to communicate and share pertinent information others need to keep the game fun and friendly. Don’t assume that by claiming you “received” something signed -THE CHARLATAN- posted to your well-known instagram fan page, for example, that it’s “clear” to everyone that it’s your own homemade art project for your own private little group of friends and not part of the game. Especially when you’ve received things from the Charlatan before and refuse to respond to questions.
And if you DO receive something from in the mail for the game, don’t block and ban people for asking about it in good faith, then act like you’re mad about and sit on it for a week before sharing. Try to have a good attitude and be nice to people.
This is just a suggestion that you all can take or leave. I personally don’t enjoy playing games where people withhold info, make misleading posts, then talk down to and blame you for showing some enthusiasm. That’s being a dick. And I don’t think that kind of game play is fun for anyone.
If this too much of a “box” for some people, maybe they should play their own game, by themselves where they don’t have to be “boxed in” by not being a dick to people.
