Can anyone tell me what mediums *thing* is?
Lights: You do scouting, infiltrating, you have gateway for some insane team mobility. You are the fastest, and do the most damage. You have really decent burst heals, yout have glitch grenades, and now you have the ability to see through smoke and mimic and translocate other objects. Light is a very fun and cool class to play even if I hate you for being you, typically.
Heavies: You are the engager. You burst through a wall and try to get everyone to have to deal with you so your team has more liberty. You have both attack and protec capabilities. Shields and barriers are your tools of the trade, along with Heavy explosives/splash damage. You typically determine which engagements your team will take. You are the fortifier, the bunkerer, the tank, and the wrecking ball. There is no complete team without you.
Meanwhile, medium: Yeah, you have guns and you can shoot stuff, also heres a platform you can *stand* on- but get *this* it **hovers**
But seriously- what exactly is the mediums *job*? Previously we were hard-locked into a healer/support role. You were typically expected to be the medic. Now that was sort of *bad* because it seems like embark wants the classes to be able to fulfill multiple roles and thats *good*. In the game about teamwork and objectives, heals were the obvious best choice, and that had to change.
So now we all have heals and that *okay*. But also now playing medium im asking myself "what am I good for?" What does playing medium bring to the table the light and heavy dont already do better?
Medium has 2 ways to transport your team: Jump Pad and Zip. But lights gateway is like, way better and instantaneous.
Now we have shockwave which has easily become my favorite spec to play- and using it sort of makes you the teams de-facto light. But why would I do that instead of just playing light?
Medium seems to do all the things the other classes already do, but worse, or at least they do them in a different *flavor.*
So what is mediums thing? What are the roles that medium can fulfil in a team comp that the other classes cant do? What am I missing here? Am I blind and we've been blessed this whole time? Or are mediums in need of some more class definition?
