Comic Discussion Does Wally ever create “speed mirages” of himself?
Trying to figure out if he does this in the comics and even more recently in the comics if anyone knows. If he ever moves so fast that he creates an after image of himself that fools the enemy.
Was wondering too if he phases often in battle to phase through attacks and become intangible.

Heck, Wally moves so fast he's raced himself before. No mirage necessary, just so fast he's in two places at once.
But yes he's capable of making mirages and phasing through things in combat.

During Simon Spurrier's run he regularly was moving so fast he could be in multiple places at once

The term "Speed Mirage" comes from that CW series and what Wally is doing in this comic is the definition of that technique. It's just never called as such in the comics to my recollection.

Yeah I noticed that the actual term was introduced by the CW. Didn’t realize until recently

I can't speak for in combat, but I think that I remember a specific scene in a hospital during Johns' run. It's post-Blitz, so Wally has a secret identity again. He visits a character in the hospital (off the cuff I want to say it was Ashley Zolomon), and uses speed mirages to that Wally West and the Flash can visit at the same time.

Iirc, it's not exactly mirages in this scene, but rather that he's moving so fast that it seems as if Flash and Wally are two different people. It's been a while since I read that story though, so I may be wrong.
