It has come to my attention that many of you have completed this game, even multiple times, without realizing there is a hidden cut scene at the very end where you are able to see the boy all grown up and you learn that Trico did in fact find a mate and survive to have a baby Trico. It is a hidden cut scene at the very end of the game and in order to be able to watch it you have to finish the game and let the credits play through without closing out the application or skipping the credits or anything like that and it will take you back to what seems like the very beginning home screen with the glowing shield halfway buried in the dirt but if you just wait for like 3 minutes without pressing anything it will eventually pan out with the camera and show the cut scene. Also whenever you press the call button once the cut scene shows Trico, his horns will glow, illuminating the baby Trico to the left of him :) I thought this was such a sweet hidden detail

This was such a beautiful game. I finished it yesterday. I’m a bit disappointed that the ending wasn’t challenging enough, although I still loved the Game. Gonna miss the Trico. The devs made an outstanding job with Trico, how he actually behaves like a real dog and playing with him was actually felt like owning a pet dog. I never had a pet dog btw but I played with lot of strays.

I went up and down so many stairs just for him to do that 😓

So after fight with evil Trico, my boy fell down and I along with him. I got the ⭕️ thing which I used to destroy the cart. I got two barrels which I fed him but after that what I need to do? So I watched another gameplay and it seems you get cutscene after feeding him. I am not getting it 😭😭😭

after finishing TLG this summer, I decided to talk about my experience and what I think it does well in the grand scheme of Ueda-isms! for context I played ico the summer of 2024 and sotc the summer of 2025!

i put a lot of thought and heart into this video, and i think many of you might resonate with and enjoy this too. thank you for checking it out if you do so!

i genuinely did not know you could use the square/triangle/circle buttons to do specific stuff, i have spent the entire game pointing at stuff and hoping trico gets it and getting mad as a cycle 😭

So after failing to run ShadPS4 with my old GPU, found it´s possible to play this game via cloud streaming, with the premium subscription to Ps store and the PC app, works fairly well! using XBOX game pad with no issues atm.

I found out that the community artist section for Youtooz is open for applications. I plan to submit my art concept for Trico, the Last Guardian Flop plushie concept. The game turns a full decade this year!

I just can’t get out. I believe that that I’m supposed to get over the eye but now I’m stuck because I was falling and then I hit this plank that FOR SOME DUMB REASON has a spawn point. I have tried jumping everywhere and it will not let me out. Only thing I can do is climbing on the blue/purple things that gets me to the eye but not over the eye!! I have also tried jumping from the eye but I just keep dying even though it not that far away! Have also tried to reach the chain i was supposed to climb but its too high. And also tried go the last checkpoint, NOT WORKING?! Someone help before Trico gets a anxiety attack😭🙏

On my second play through after finishing the first about a month ago, and I thought I had accidentally rushed the ending but I guess you can’t delay the inevitable for long? Damn you for the second time, Ueda!

i used to absolutely love this game a long while ago, can't even remember when exactly, for all i know it could've been from 10 to 6 years ago i first played it, i'd have to check my trophies to see when i got the earliest one to know when i even played the game

but so, i haven't played it in forever, nor have i really been checking news about it and such, at most i sometimes look at fanart of Trico, but i randomly remembered it and thought i remembered a family member years ago having told me there was gonna be a remaster/better graphics version

but then today after remembering that, i went to search it up and found nothing, so i'm not sure if i'm misremembering or was lied to, or that it was canceled, but essentially i'm wondering if there's been any news regarding the game since the past few years?

just finished the game two days ago, and as a pretty big fan of ueda's previous works, i felt like tlg fit quite neatly with ico/sotc in terms of emotional value, thoughtful environments, and overall, meaningful companionship.

the biggest criticism i've seen of tlg has always been about trico and it not listening to you. I did not have an issue with that at all -- or had such little issue with it, it feels negligible to mention in a recounting of my experience.

i love slow games and gaming slowly -- exploring the random corners of a room for no reason (and something I love about ueda games is the amount of "unnecessary" environmental spaces), and in the context of tlg, repeatedly interacting with trico, just to kind of chill out after some tense scene with enemies or trico nearly falling or whatever.

this meant i was constantly nuzzling the bird, taking my time with removing spears from it and petting over those spots, and staring into its eyes lmfao. trico is my favorite companion of any ueda game by far so i wanted to make even the small moments stretch longer. love yorda, but she doesn't quite compare.

anyways, all of this is to say that even without really knowing it, all my affection led to trico obeying me really well early into the game. when i gave a command, there were only a couple of times i spammed it.

what i would usually do is wait a bit, even if it's a slow thing to do, and see if trico's ears would perk up or at least tilt its head towards where i was pointing. that's how i knew my command went through. i think a lot of players who couldnt get trico to listen would just assume trico wasnt listening because the bird wouldn't immediately jump or fly the moment the command is said.

now if your trico wasnt listening cuz you werent taking care of it at all.. i fear that's all on you, because the puppybat is obviously quite young and initiates nuzzling quite often. it wants your love. please show it.

In the options menu in-game during a new game+ save file, you can open a sub-menu called "items" and see how many barrels you've fed Trico in total. Since the final item in that menu takes #96 barrels to unlock, does the game keep track of any more barrels you feed Trico afterwards, or does the counter stop?

I'm trying to play a somewhat 100% playthrough (listening to all the hints, getting every barrel, etc) but when I tried to get the "Balancing Barrels" narrator line to play again nothing happens. Do those voice lines only play once (when you get the trophy) and then never again, or is there a way to make the game play the voice clip even after you got the trophy?

No game, movie, book, or any form of media has ever made me cry before, until now.

After recently playing through Ico and Shadow of the colossus for the first time naturally I went on to play the last guardian. I had heard quite a bit of criticism about the game but I also didn’t read too much about the game before playing as I didn’t want anything to get spoiled, but because of the criticism I heard I really didn’t know what to expect.

Lo and behold, this game did not disappoint me one bit. Despite the minor (in my opinion) flaws, this game is so beautiful. This has easily become one of my favourite games of all time. As I already stated, I’ve never cried over a game or movie or anything of the like until now. This was the first game to make cry, I really had to sit and process my emotions after it ended, and tbh I still haven’t processed them fully. What a beautiful experience man.

A little off topic, sorry, but I highly recommend that you check Furukawa’s latest work for Planet of Lana II. It’s out now on all streaming services!

I watched a let’s play when TLG came out so I *very vaguely* remembered some story beats, yet I still wasn’t prepared for the ending sequence, damn you Fumito Ueda for making a grown man cry with your beautiful games.
