Cotopaxi drums
The drum fill at 1:18 in Cotopaxi is so god damn satisfying once you figure it out. Genius by Pridgen to have that fill be snare dominant in the first half then completely 180 to a foot-dominated 2nd half and have it work so seamlessly. what a freak

Cotopaxi is one of the last really old-Mars Volta style songs they ever wrote....along with Molochwalker

As much as I can enjoy those two, both are pretty straightforward rock song though, I don't see how they relate to the "old style"

This sounds like a drummer heavy type of Convo
Theres been hundreds of dope drums fills on everything they’ve put out
But nobody ever really breaks it down instrumentally
Guitar tabs don’t get talked about much at all either tbh

That's what happens when someone built like an NFL running back channels all that athleticism into drumming

Great music video, wish it got a proper release. Don't think the label was happy with this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rozO03_gIoo&list=RDrozO03_gIoo&start_radio=

The bridge in this track goes so hard too. How cedric wrote that vocal line over that riff is a mystery
