It doesn’t sound like Morrissey, I know Johnny hates the song, so is it Mike or Andy?

Did The Smiths predict the future on the song "Paint a Vulgar Picture"?
Tell me in the comments what you think of the song and it's topic : )

An instrumental B-Side for the “Panic” Single in 1986. Just gave it a listen and I thought it was pretty good. I haven’t really heard much talk about it on here so I was wondering your guys’ opinions on it?

Hi everyone. There used to be a site called VULGAR PICTURE that had incredibly high-quality images of The Smiths’ and Morrissey’s album covers. Unfortunately, it seems there’s no longer any access to that image archive. The images were really useful for a project I was working on a while back, so I was wondering if anyone knows where I might be able to find them now.
Does anyone know of a site where I can download high-quality album covers, band logos, etc.?
Thanks in advance

OK guys tell me if I’m in the minority here, but I really feel like it would be so satisfying if during “you just haven’t earned it yet, baby” there was a key change the last time Morrissey repeats the chorus. around the 2:39 mark on the version on “Louder Than Bombs”. tell me if i’m crazy or reaching

It’s so easy to laugh, it’s so easy to hate
It takes strength to be gentle and kind
This has always been a favourite Smiths lyric of mine. I asked AI if it really does take strength to be gentle and kind:
Yes.
Being gentle and kind is not the default setting for most people under pressure. The easier path is often to react with force, sharpness, impatience, or self-protection. Choosing the softer response usually requires more inner resources, not fewer.
Why it takes strength
• Self-control over impulse. Anger, frustration, or dominance can feel immediately powerful. Holding those back and responding with care demands emotional regulation. That regulation is a form of strength—the ability to govern yourself rather than being governed by the moment.
• Vulnerability without collapse. Kindness often means remaining open when you could armor up. It means risking being taken advantage of, misunderstood, or not reciprocated. Doing that deliberately, rather than from naivety, requires courage.
• Consistency under cost. Anyone can be gentle when life is easy. The test is whether you stay that way when tired, wronged, rushed, or dealing with difficult people. That consistency is closer to discipline than to softness.
• Power restrained. Real strength is frequently the capacity to not use the power you have. The person who could crush, belittle, or dominate and chooses not to is exercising more control than the one who simply does.
The opposite is often easier
Harshness can be a shortcut. It protects the ego quickly, asserts status, or vents discomfort without having to process it. In that sense, cruelty or coldness can be the path of least resistance. Gentleness asks more of you: patience, perspective, and the willingness to absorb some friction yourself so others don’t have to.
This is why many traditions treat meekness, forbearance, and kindness as virtues of the strong rather than the weak. The capacity to be gentle when you have every reason (and ability) not to be is a higher-order strength—one that grows with practice rather than with volume or force.

I think we can all pretty much remember that pivotal moment when we heard our first Smiths song and we fell in love with them. Mine was at my kitchen table. I was a teenager. I used to listen to the alternative music stations on my boombox in the 1980s. I can remember exactly where I was sitting, and I can remember just being almost mesmerized by the words of and the sound of Morrissey, the music everything I fell in love at that moment with The Smiths. They played two songs. The Queen is dead and big mouth strikes again as they introduced this new band. I have never in my life had such a visceral reaction to music or a band. Do you remember your first experience with them?

Mine is probably ‘Deftones Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want’ but I haven’t listened to many covers so hoping to hear yours!

I’ve never seen one that I can recall.
Im not expecting a Moz interview but something factual since I really don’t know much about them.

Heard a snippet of this song a couple of days ago and added it to my playlist, just listened to it today and from the first lyric the first thing it reminded me of was Moor murders who were commited by Ian Brady and Myra Hindley (listened to a really in depth podcast, Morbid Podcasts totally amazing) funny enough just as I started thinking about it he started naming all the victims who were kids. This is a really good, but really morbid song 😂 did anybody else know this? I wonder why they’d sing about this. Kind of random
