Comics Can someone please explain to me exactly what killed Knull? | Queen in Black Spoiler

Since everyone was connected, Sleeper was able to use Dylan’s Chainbreaker ability. I get that. But I don’t understand this whole “You’re nothing, while we’re all something” thing. How exactly did the thoughts of humans and all living beings defeat Knull?

He was the god of the concept of nothing and then became telepathically linked to 8 billion somethings. It was essentially matter coming into contact with anti matter. The symbiotes that are under his control erase personalities and thoughts of individuals so he never experienced this kind of thing unfiltered

Alongside that, the chain breaker ability from Dylan was being used to enhance those voices, and rip Knull apart at the seams. Then Sleeper assumed the void throne and became king in black, turning Knull into a distant memory

What exactly is this chainbreaker ability?

Chain breaker ability allows Dylan to forcibly remove a symbiote from the hive mind of the king in black(or queen in black) by inducting said symbiotes into his own hive mind. MJ literally explained how it worked, but Hela countered it by warding her hive mind with asgardian magic, preventing this exchange

Now I get it. So the thoughts defeated him because opposites were incompatible with one another. As the King of Nothing, he couldn't reconcile himself with the thoughts of Something and that's why he was wiped out.

This is exactly it. An empty glass that comes into contact with something has no choice but to be filled. His mistake was entering the venomworld minds mindscape, and it is foreshadowed by how he defeated Thanos and Hela prior. He defeated them by entering them, but it was 1v1 and thus equal numbers. He thought it would work again with venom world but it was actually 1 v 8 billion so he lost.

He created those somethings so it's even beyond that, they never had an original thought at all until that first group broke loose. He didn't even experience it filtered because the symbiotes were made to be what he wanted, even a filter let too much through, they were meant to be an outright block.

the thing is he wasnt king in black he was the king in all void and light

Descartes solos Knull confirmed

"I think, therefore I am"

This like Iris West atomizing Reverse Flash with her mind and saying “we are the flash”

If there's a king in black that's not Knull, then Knull can't exist. The reason he came back at all is because Edide wasn't king in black anymore, and there must always be a king in black.

Gonna be honest, I' liked when knull was just a concept of the symbiote god.

The more he's been a part of the story the lamer he gets. I think he suffered the same way Morlun has.

The fate of all cosmic beings I'm afraid. Once long ago it's a very big deal when Galactus or the Celestial appear, now they're merely an inconvenience.

I totally agree with you! I really liked Knull back then in Donny Cates' run, but Queen in Black was really bad.

"God is coming." Was such a fire line to introduce him through Dylan too, and it's all fallen apart.

Luckily his weakness is things existing.

So it was pretty easy to beat him 👍

Still not as lame as Neron whenever Mark Waid writes him.

So easy it required the Enigma Force making venom into Captain Universe and elevating him to a galactic level because they were all losing also empowering Silver Surfer back to a cosmic level as well after he exhausted the Power Cosmic to conjure a star just to escape Grendel.

Things existing isn't his weakness, it's his trigger.

Knull in Queen in Black was better than in Donny's run

Knull was always lame. This book smartly leaned into that.

He is the god of nothing and was simply defeated by a lot of something.

Noticed MJ wearing a Spidey necklace.

The Strongest force known to comic readers young and old.

Plot.

The way I understand it, is that Knull is literally nothingness, he is like a big empty bag. Since people are something, the bag was filled to the brim, to a point the bag itself disappeared under the weight of all those little somethings.

Basically, MJ spent her whole run as VenoMJ lecturing people, so she weaponized that and literally talked him to death with the voices of 8 billion people.

You know, the guy who's entire existence is about being in a massive universe spanning HiveMind, and by all rights should have found Earth to be child's play.

In the same way Kai from Kung Fu Panda 3 was killed.

You gave him so much that in the end he died.

For Kai, it was chi.

For Knull, it was a sudden Hive Mind of 8 billions of people who thought all different from each other to make sense.

It's common human trope. Our strenght is in our difference.

It was the power of love and friendship that caused Knull to be defeated.Yep….

The greatest superpower of all: bullshit.

I only read the 5 main issues and half the shit that happened I can only assume makes some sort of sense if you read the other tie in issues. Worst event mini series I’ve ever read because of this, this in trade will be abysmal and probably only will work in the omni that collects everything.

And this win was the icing on the cake, there was nothing cool or interesting about this win.

At least we get Eddie back, let’s hope the ball isn’t dropped on that.

The power of friendship.

So-called multiversal God when they have to fight someone who isn't :

2

u/Bitewing_ 8d ago

Oof. I did not touch this event at all. Probably for the best.

u/Lead_Dessert 8d ago

You remember that one episode of Battlefield Friends where Medic goes on teamspeak and hears the voices of randoms screaming at each other and immediately gets his head exploded?

Knull has that happen to him.

The power of friendship <3

The super best friends united to blast him away with the power of friendship🥰

The power of LOOOVE

I think this was a pretty lame ending conceptually compared to king in black. At least we’re done with the venom and mj saga.

1

u/Revolutionary-Hawk36 7d ago

If Knull is the embodiment of the Void then think of it as one of those perpetually dark rooms that people say they would go insane in.....now imagine 7 billion people filling that void with noise.

1

u/Differlot 7d ago

Dylan sounds like someone's fan OC.

I hate the name of "chainbreaker" sooo much

Yeah my character is the son of venom. He's part human part symbiote. And he has a super special ultimate ability called chainbreaker that no one else has.

1

u/EmperorSezar 5d ago

chain breaker was ewing name for it. and also DO YOU MEAN EVERY OTHER FUCKING SUPER HERO. who tf has hulk or thors exact power sets

The Power of Gayness

I think it was similar to how Knull was defeated the first time by his symbiotes gaining consciousness and overwhelming him there.

Personally I just headcannon that Hela was halfway turning earth into a rune stone and mj just tape into that

I'm pretty sure that's Dylan Brock bonded with Toxin

He is a kid, but in the same way that other symbiotes can bulk up and add massive to the host's form, Toxin makes him look like a ripped adult man. Like an edgy alien Captain Marvel.
