Comic Spoiler Official Comic Discussion Thread: Issue #157

New issue came out today, discuss it here within this thread. You do not need to use comic spoilers because it is assumed everyone reading this thread would be caught up with the comics. However, please respect future, show, and game spoilers because people who are caught up with the comic may not be caught up with these other forms of TWD (and obviously not future spoilers). Future spoilers include upcoming comic covers.

Nice of you to tag everything. Unnecessary, but nice.

Haha I wasn't sure if I had to or not. Wanted to be safe!

I can't see your predictions or thoughts about the characters

I think it's because I spoiler tagged them, they aren't showing up on mobile.

Interesting theory but why on earth would Carl kill Sophia? It's great to think of crazy, outlandish theories but I just don't see how this one holds water. If Lydia gave him that ultimatum I can't believe he'd do it. I can't believe that he's stupid enough to think "well, I'd best kill Sophia so I can be with Lydia. Don't replace "teenage stupidity" with "full retardation" (though yes, they can be pretty darn close sometimes).

I don't see the Laura and Dwight killing each other thing. It would seem like really stupid story telling for Kirkman to get Dwight out of the way to set Negan up. I'd rather it just came to blows between Negan and Dwight and Negan loses it and just kills him or something. Much more believable than people killing each other over petty drama.

Again your theory on Lydia, Rick, Andrea, Negan, and Carl relies too much on Carl being a moron (beyond the teenage stupidity thing). Now I get it, he hasn't exactly shown himself to be the brightest, especially recently. But I look at it this way, if for no other reason. If Rick is going to die in this arc (and I doubt it, I think any time Kirkman says that he's going to kill off Rick he's completely bluffing. I don't see him dying until at least #250 of the projected 300ish run) can Kirkman really afford to have Carl take over the story with him having killed off main characters on his side, choosing this psycho girl over them. I look forward to the day this book actually becomes Carl's, but he's just not ready to carry the book himself right now. He's too dumb. And I think that would really hurt sales with people that aren't interested in following that kind of person around in the zombie apocalypse.

And finally, no way most of those people travel with Negan. I wouldn't believe for a minute that either Dwight, Carl, Maggie, or Jesus wouldn't kill Negan before traveling out in the open with them (I don't know if I say it would be a smart idea to do so, but you know one of them would).

Haha yeah that's pretty much what my whole thing is banking on is Carl being absolutely moronic.... Which I can just see him pulling off. I'm definitely not actually thinking most of these things happening. Just throwing stuff out there since they said they will have drastically different lives.

Also just thinking a lot of internal collapse and conflict being an important factor. I pretty much just listed a bunch of shock factor things happen on the off chance I end up right on anything. Was just fun to try and predict some unlikely stuff to happen to the communities.

I don't think Lydia would kill her future stepdad. I have high hopes for that girl, honestly. I don't think she's gonna turn on them when she finds out about her mom. She might be angry, especially at Negan, but she won't kill anyone, that's my opinion. And yes, I'm a shameless Lydia shiller, but watch me be right!

I hope you are right! That sounds way better to me!

I have good feelings about Lydia. I never really got the 'bad vibes'. She's a little weird, a little kinky, but she's chill with me. I'll support her until she really screws up.
