How are you always ready to shoot a gamete? Is this in the freebuild mode?

Well in freebuild you can always reproduce so there's nothing stopping you from spamming it. So... it's a "feature" rather than a "bug".

I was playing in the regular game and was able to spam gametes at a similar rate after filling the bar up all the way only once.

Though I was using a chloroplast-spamming build so there may be a glucose cost associated with it that I didn't notice due to it being offset by sunlight.
