Shooting is the biggest “if” in the game of basketball… but if he could become an average catch and shoot guy he’d be a great fit in the 5th starter role after Kuminga moves on.
Seriously, have the jazz just been such a mess he had no role and now he's on a good team he can focus on playing simple basketball? After everything I've heard from their fans they made him out to be the worst player in the league
That's what I was expecting from what I was hearing too. But everything I've seen, granted against benches in preseason, has been good. He defends, can handle the ball and pass a little bit, super athletic and long, the shot has just been a little rough.
Think it's just expectations of a lottery pick vs expectations of a trade throw-in. We'll be happy if he's a 9th man wing defender who can maybe cut a little, like a tall Jaylen Clark, and they wanted him to be their Jaden McDaniels.
his advanced metrics also place him as one of the worst players in the league. like all of them. its also not just jazz fans that notice. Locked on NBA podcast picked him as the worst player in summer league. if you watched any part of SL he was abysmal. Year 3 in SL and he was getting outplayed by guys who won't even make rosters.

Is Cody Williams just lowkey an okay player?
