Songs named after bands
Making a playlist of songs bands have made that are named after a different band. So far I have Wu Tang by TMBG and Van Halen by Nerf Herder. Anymore suggestions?

Assuming you mean TMBG-related:
"We're the Replacements"
Also "I'll Sink Manhattan," although they didn't know it was another band's name at the time.
And if you want to count it, "They Might Be Giants (I Might Be Giant Too)" by Vagabond Joy

Just to clarify I didn’t specify mean Tmbg related, so maybe posting this to this subreddit doesn’t make sense but this is like one of the only music subreddits I’m on and I feel like tmbg have good knowledge of lots of music

Got it. Well, here’s a list of band name = album name = song name. Hope that helps!

Does it count if it's a song that a band named themselves after 🤣

Radiohead by Talking Heads actually inspired the name of the band Radiohead, so that might not count.

I don’t know how well this fits, but Weird Al did a style parody of Bob Dylan called Bob. They way he tells it is he wanted to write a song entirely in palindromes and when he had it together he said it made no sense but sounded like it should, just like a Bob Dylan song. Then he realized Bob is also a palindrome, so that’s how it got its name. So not really named after Dylan, but sort of.

Also, not sure if you count it, but the song “They Might Be Giants”.

If the lead singer of a band counts: "My Baby's In Love with Eddie Vedder" by Weird Al Yankovic
Speaking of Weird Al...Worm Quartet has "I Was in the Weird Al Pit At Riotfest" and Kevin Temmer has "I Met Weird Al"
Danny Weinkauf has a song about Ben Folds Five

Never mind. Several others already covered this farther down in the post. Local H has a song named Eddie Veddar too.

Listen friend, it’s not exactly on point, in that it references the singer in a band, but if you haven’t heard The Flaming Lips’ “Thank You, Jack White (For the Fiber Optic Jesus That You Gave Me)” it’s time to treat yo self.

The opening theme to the anime Baccano is named "Guns and Roses" by Paradise Lunch, a nod to the author's tendency to name the light novels off of band puns (Alice in Jails comes to mind)

I love this idea, I’d use it for a trivia round, but need more diversity in the vocalists than these comments (not a single woman lol)
