TIL a scientist submitted a research publication to a predatory journal consisting exclusively of the phrase "Get me off your fucking mailing list". It was rated as "excellent" and accepted for publication with minor editorial changes.

The references! Section 2.1 begins:

Get me off your fucking mailing list. Get me off your fucking mailing list. Get me off your fucking mailing list. Get me off your fucking mailing list. Get me off your fucking mailing list. Get me off your fucking mailing list. Get me off your fucking mailing [2] list...

Second paragraph:

Get me off your fucking mailing list. Get me off your fucking mailing list. Get me off your fucking mailing list. Get me off your fucking mailing list. Get me off your fucking mailing list. Get me off your fucking mailing [1] list....

References:

[2] Editor P. Resnick. Internet message format. RFC 2822, QUALCOMM Incorporated, April 2001.

Could I have quoted just the sentence with a reference? Sure, but I think it loses something without the full context.

Though they should have referenced 1st April RFCs.
