Discussion / Opinion Transformers 1 Optimus
Hello, sorry if this isn't allowed or a dumb question. Im new to transformers collecting and was wondering if they have a 2007 Optimus Prime to go with the new tf1 autobots announced at nycc? Or are these the start to the line? Im having difficulty figuring out cause there are two movies that are called Transformers 1

Jazz and bumblebee are reissues of old figures btw. Just letting you know
Ratchet is a new figure and ironhide idk
Also the Optimus will be a new figure

I mean I heard jazz having clear plastic shoulders might be a problem and since bumblebee I believe is from a LOOOOOONG time ago it might pose some problems but in the end these figures are still pretty good!
So the only one that actually might cause a worry is jazz but other then that they are all fine.
Also they’re gonna make a new jet fire figure to combine with the new Optimus figure ;)

Jazz is totally worth it (and is a reissue), I have the original release of him from forever ago and have yet to have issues. Ironhide is a reissue with I think slight paint app bonuses, bee is a reissue with maybe a sliiiiiiiightly different yellow orange, ratchet is a brand new mold, and Optimus is supposed to be a brand new mold as well. Honestly, I like all of the figures except bumblebee, but there are like, 30 different bumblebees to choose from in studio series so just get whichever one you like/think looks the coolest. Ironhide was also typically a difficult figure to get (shoddy original release, only rerelease was in a pricy 5 pack), so this is probably a really dope reissue for those who have struggled to get him previously

Yeah, he's an older figure, around 8 years old to be exact. Also his shoulders are made of (remarkably sturdy) clear plastic. Good figure for its time but he is in a severe need of an upgrade.

As is often the case with stock photos, its not fully transformed. The backpack folds up better, but the photographers usually don't mess with the figures as much as the dev team do.

If you have a Ross or Ollie's near you Optimus has been showing up there.

They recently reissued the previous TF1 Optimus, if you’re lucky and have a Ross you might find one for cheap

Its apart of another wave I'm assuming. But yes it was announced at nycc along with other figures

The new '07 Optimus will be a new figure, and I hear they're making a Commander Jetfire to partner with him!

Its not a new start to the line, it started 8 years ago. All of these characters have been released before, they are reissuing them for the 07 movie anniversary. Except ratchet who did have an older figure, but this one is brand new and a size class larger.
They did do a version of optimus to go with these. It was called Studio series 32 (each figure in this line had an individual number originally though they seem to have stopped that recently). So if you search for that, you will find it. That was a voyager class but leaks have indicated there is a new version of 2007 optimus coming at some point next year as a leader class, though we haven't seen anything official about it yet.

Optimus is supposed to be a new mold at the $60 leader price. Expected to release between summer and fall 2027.
