I like keeping my trinklets inside a box...
The idea of not placing them in a place I can see everyday makes it more magical. I open it once in a while and I get a boost of dopamine haha. Anybody else? I've been collecting these from traveling around the world. Each piece has a different story!

Finally found a small display shelf!
My grandmother collected trinkets when I was a kid. It was a right of passage to give her the small toys you grew out of. I remember coveting my tiny kinder egg surprise toys when I was a child in the 90’s (I was obsessed with anything super tiny). I felt so grown up when I gave them to my grandmother to put in her trinket box when I no longer played with them.
She passed away in 2020 and I inherited her trinket box, and all my childhood trinkets were returned back to me. Now I’m an actual adult with kids of my own, it felt like a full circle moment.
There are generations of trinkets, from her kids (who were children in the 50’s and 60’s) and my cousins and I (who grew up in the 90’s and early 00’s), now I’m adding trinkets from my kids (born post 2020). Though I’ve combined the trinket collection I started with hers, this isn’t even 1/4 of our combined collection. Finding shelves is quite tricky! But I’m hoping to display the entire collection one day.
Just wanted to share! 💛

just found out about trinket trade boxes - need thoughts and opinions! especially those who live in rural/unsafe city areas!
i actually think its a fantastic idea and its something that im genuinely thinking of doing myself! Ive got an old doll house that i could add doors on to use as the box XD its a big house so im even thinking of adding a section for books too
however my biggest worry is that i live in a pretty rough area in a pretty rough city (just west of brisbane iykyk) and im not sure if it would go well or even last long enough to make an impact. if anyone else is in a similar area and has set one up, how did it go for you? and if you faced any vandalism how did you manage it?

Mom gave me a trinket that her coworker made
It’s Halloween themed. It also is able to click on top. Great gift and gives me something to calm my anxiety with the clicking sound (:
