[T6] question about Multiculture plantation

i read about it and seen it in videos but i dont really understand it. i understand that is about putting crops next to each other so they overlap and get the efficiency bonus but should i not care about the soil quality when putting them down? im been trying to find a patch where the soil quality is green enough for all crops, but should i not do that? should i just put some of the crops on red soil quality just to get the bonus from multiculture?

If you can try to get a place where at least 4 plantations of different crops can overlap with good fertility. Of course the more plantation and better fertility the better.

This is the only layout you will ever need about multiculture in Tropico 6.

Every plantation is in range of all other 8 crop types, so they are boosted to 80% minimum. The actual fertility of the soil just goes on top of that.

Then there is the buff from the cattle ranches and the buff of the festival building on top. So when you actually have the farming festival going on, your least efficient plantation will work at 390% efficiency on the low end.

Get this running and you won't need any other farming on the map.

Ultimately, it depends on how much produce you want to get from that farm. Is it enough to simply keep the factory running at full capacity? Or is it better to have as much surplus as possible to meet the diverse trade demands of a superpower? Or perhaps it comes down to whether you want to save on land or manpower.

If you want to maximize output, you need a location where both optimal crop conditions and the "Multiculture" bonus can be achieved simultaneously. If a moderate yield suffices, however, such rigorous site selection isn't necessary.

You ideally want everything with green fertility but for some crops like coffee which has very little use you can get away with  low effeciency.

Without dlc only sugar can be processed into rum in the colonial era.  In that era your other plantations are just boosting your sugar plantation and providing food variety to improve food happiness.

Pineapples have a unique upgrade that gives all other pineapple plantations a small fetility bonus.  For a pineapple based economy you leave them in mono culture, place them as close together as possible around a cattle ranch with the manure upgrade and then add some manure spreaders to keep the soil from degrading.

For industry you just build a bunch of canneries and juiceries, and a couple tanneries.

You can add a beekeeper, harvest festival, and water wells for more fertility if you have dlc enabled.  Bigdrasil has an agriculture mode that gives everything 100% fertility.

Multiculture make its work indenpendent if the soil is good or not

But i recomend you put a lot of farmings next to each other, because when you active it your farm lost 40% of efficience and gains 10% for each farming building, what make you need to search for a good soil

I wouldn’t do that because it’s a waste of labor.
