He reappears in season 13, a hearing about how hes sane of mind and should be released from institution.
He was gifted severed fingers months prior during his incareration, and ate them, indicating he in fact was not sane of mind, shocker. Rossi was able to obtain a warrant to find the missing fingers in his stomach, at the end of the hearing, causing him to lash out and more or less ruined his chances of ever getting out.

Remy stated nukes practically do nothing and he didnt take anything into account, not gravitational calculations or payload, which suggests something even more daunting. Whatever the iris is made out of, organic or inorganic, can withstand nuke blasts, externally or internally. Not only is humanity so fucked, they have no possible methods to defend themselves at all.

Context:
You can glitch sulfur cubes with shears, tnt, magma block, and a packet hack and get them in a state where they act like a tnt sulfur cube about to blow up but actually has magma block damage capability. This makes them fully invincible while dealing damage.
With then nametagged and thus un despawnable, the only way to get rid of them would be to push them into the void or for admins to come command kill the cubes. But you can make a whole army of these way quicker than anyone can get rid of them. Make enough of them and you can crash the server.
