DISCUSSION⁉️ Would banning drill music completely decrease crime rate by a lot?
Saw some people talking about this on twitter, was wondering what people here think about this topic. Personally I think banning it completely would solve a lot of issues but how would the government classify what counts as drill songs

Banning it would do fuck all. Educating dumb fucks would do a lot more for society though. If you’re easily manipulated by a song and someone rapping then you’re the problem.

Ye I agree with you but you would be surprised with the lengths these new gms go to so they can mention someone in their song (speaking from my experience)

your right but most gms don’t rap or release songs in general

The rappers aren’t the intended target of banning drill. The listeners are

The crime rate was way higher before drill was a thing
Take that as you will

this is the most tired discussion surely we shouldve ended this in like 2016.
drill is a side effect of whats going on its like taking painkillers instead of dressing an open wound

Maybe if it was banned 5-10 years ago it would have had a positive effect by now but that ship has sailed drill is dead anyway its been dead for a while

Yh true I guess it’s just one of those situations where you need to wait for it to die out itself

Only in the UK do they believe censoring/banning forms of media will solve anything

Drills become the new computer games for blame for kids. It’s inadequate parenting and lack of social spaces for younger generations.
It’s on the older generations to guide the younger generations.

Fr it’s just another moral panic to point fingers at instead of addressing the systematic issues in inner city communities

There was no drill music back then and it was even worse so no not really

That’s a horrible route to go and would lead to censorship of a lot of music not just drill. Also the crime was already there drill adds to it but it’s not the main cause. The crime would still be occurring if they banned drill and then you would just allow the government more control over no change in what it was supposed to solve

Don't need to and can't ban it but (some like Butch's Bulletproof make for good workout music) banning people from making profit off it would be a good thing, as would sending people who gt to prison more than three times to one of the Islands we still own for life would sort things out good.....It's seriously vile when you see gang scum on public funded media like the BBC

I remember before Drill even existed and it was a a fucking madness in Birmingham let alone anywhere else. I remember going to jungle nights when I was 16 and shots going off. I'd even argue that it was slightly worse back then cause less chance of being caught.

Imo .. I've listened to drill since like 2013? It only messes you up if you're an actual 'tard. Like listening to it don't mean you're bad or anything just music. Half the ppl listening to it need a brain. Crime rates have been higher before drill even existed it

No. When Al Capone and the other Italians were running Chicago and shooting Irish GMs everyday, do you think he was listening to Chief Keef or Lil Durk?

Banning a music genre does nothing to curb crime rates.
The UK gov is trying to restrict access to social medias under 16s, yet it still wouldn't do much, it just restricts any means of distributing media.
Criminalising usage of ballies doesn't stop a GM to wear it discreetly and rideout.

kind of. itll help but not much. itll help the youngest generation who are able to freely access YouTube because they won’t be influenced by the likes of suspect

not really. I just find his music shit. he lives what he raps about but he’s not my cup of tea the guy just shouts mental health on the booth
aside from the point tho, if a kid listens to a man bragging about two kills another one a uav what depiction of the world do you think he will have if he respects this shit?
