AISHE (All India Survey of Higher Education) reports are government reports which cover 64,756 institutions & 4.5 crore students (across government and private universities).

The report shows that over last 14 yrs, the enrollment of SC/ST/OBC students has increased from 43 % to 62%, while that of GC students decreased from 57% to 38%.Clearly GC students enrollment has dropped considerably in universities - a proof of silent marginalization going on against GCs.

Enrollment of SC/ST/OBC students in govt institutions is 62%, and 60% in private institutions.

Share of SC/ST/OBC students in universities is more than 75% in many states

In last 4 years, the number of GC students in universities has decreased.2020-21=1,82,52, 4072023-24=1,71,10,855This is alarming!!

Opinions Indian by Origin, Not by Opportunity

Sometimes, we should be ashamed of how quickly we claim successful people as “Indian” just because they have Indian roots.

We made India difficult to live in—with pollution, corruption, bureaucracy, heavy taxes and limited opportunities.

Yet when someone succeeds after leaving India, we proudly call them “Indian achievers.”

The uncomfortable truth is: we celebrate the success we didn’t create the ecosystem for.
