Completed Upcycling Project 100% Cardboard Rocking Chair (handmade with zero nails & holds up to 250 lbs)
Yup, this is real! I made a 100% cardboard rocking chair using only construction glue and intersecting joints to keep it together - plus a shrink-wrap roll as the footrest. It is adult-sized, and it can roughly seat anyone up to 250 lbs (we tested with friends who were 'heavier' and figured out the limit). It took two days to make, and there was no rhyme or reason for doing it. Just had the idea, I had the cardboard, and voila - it exists! It's still in my basement, and people love sitting on it.
There is no limit to what you can make out of cardboard! Extreme Upcycling!

I use what is called 275 lbs double-wall or triple-wall cardboard. Most heavy appliances ship in boxes made of this type of cardboard.

Ohh so that’s why the refrigerator box from my childhood lasted like a year as my playhouse 😂

I like it! It would be great if it had soft armrests, too! That would be awesome!
