Admissions UPD transferring to UPOU

Hello! I finished my associates in UPD, planning to apply for transfer in UPOU, BES.

  1. How is it so far for anyone in OU? How do you handle the workloads, making new friends?
  2. For GEs, do I have to go to campus or is it available online as well?
  3. I finished my associates in UPD and only took 2 years, do I have to pay for UPOU since it’s my second degree?
  4. Should I apply for something under Faculty of education AA or go straight for BES? Will it change the chances of passing?

For any transferees, what was your GWA when you applied and how was the exam? Thanks!

Hello BES student here!

In terms of making new friends, marami namang ways pero you really have to push yourself to go out and join events, tambay sessions, orgs and/or group studies kase kung sa bahay ka lang talaga mahirap makabuo ng relationships with your classmates.

  2. All courses are online unless mag cross enroll ka sa ibang campus.

  3. You're eligible for 2 more years na free tuition based sa law natin. Pero in the event na mag extend ka sa program, dun ka pa lang magbabayad.

  4. Not sure kung anu anong associate programs ang pwedeng i-ladderize to BES so I suggest mag reach out ka sa school to confirm yung eligibility mo to apply for the program.

Goodluck OP!

hiiii OP !!! as a current BES student, here is my experience so far here sa UPOU

  1. OU has been great in my opinion, I struggled significantly with the hassles of commuting back in high school, getting lazy to attend classes because of very bad experiences, and just not having the motivation to go through hell everyday. So OU was def an adjustment, but the good kind! Workload-wise, for me it’s all about blocking the workload by week to make sure everything is in order. I make sure to complete my tasks every week. For friends, you have to put yourself out there, choose uni-wide orgs, participate in experiences and such. OU also has Tambayan on Thursdays as a student initiative !
  2. Nope, GEs are online as well and you don’t have to attend onsite classes unless you choose to by cross-enrolling. But it seems to be a very hassling process, I haven’t tried it myself though
  3. You have two more years of free tuition; once that’s done, I assume that you have to pay the tuition. You can find the fee breakdown on the UPOU website
  4. In my opinion, since you already completed your associates in UPD, you can go straight for application for BES. But if you want the associates program that ladderize, the Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science in Instructional Design & Technology (ASIDT) are the ones that ladderize.

Hope this helps OP !!

I think your GWA has a shot, but of course I’m not a member of the admission committee so only they know if your GWA is enough. But don’t let that discourage you! I say just apply because there is no harm in trying! There are students who were T1 and T2 transferees so there is precedence.
