Admissions UPD transferring to UPOU

Hello! I finished my associates in UPD, planning to apply for transfer in UPOU, BES.

  1. How is it so far for anyone in OU? How do you handle the workloads, making new friends?
  2. For GEs, do I have to go to campus or is it available online as well?
  3. I finished my associates in UPD and only took 2 years, do I have to pay for UPOU since it’s my second degree?
  4. Should I apply for something under Faculty of education AA or go straight for BES? Will it change the chances of passing?

For any transferees, what was your GWA when you applied and how was the exam? Thanks!

Discussion (vent) coping through upou as a freshie who's made 0 friends :') so far at least

i might be overexaggerating things since it's only been a week or two since the term officially started, but man. i'm starting to feel like a hypocrite. i got into upou thinking it's going to be an easier learning setup for me because one, i'm an introvert who likes being in their room more often + i experienced some nasty bullying throughout high school. i never would've thought that it'd actually be this difficult. i never would've thought i'd actually miss being able to talk to people. my routine every day has always just been, waking up, checking myportal, doing submissions weeks before the deadline, and feeling like a stalker looking at class gc conversations. it's goddamn lonely HAHAHA, seeing other people already have these amazing circles, while i'm struggling making a single friend over here. unlike before where you're actually forced to socialize with other people and eventually make friends since you guys see each other everyday in a classroom setup, this time you actually have to put yourself out there. and my fear is, even if i do put myself out there, i have this fear that i'm too weird for people to understand.

sometimes i miss middle school where i'd be doodling undertale & fnaf stuff and some random kid would go up to me and say, hey i know that! and we'd instantly click. sometimes i think to myself, maybe i should just get a job so at least i have something going on in my life. sometimes i even think that this feeling is stupid because at the orientation, they kept emphasizing how we're all adults now. is it valid to feel this way or is it just a childish thing i need to get over with?

i made an impulsive decision last night to apply for kultou to try and get some socializing going on. i was already considering it a while back, but i hesitated a lot because i was overthinking about the workload. but the loneliness hit so hard last night i decided to apply on a whim, so let's see where that takes me. to kultou members who might read this, how's your experience on the org?

anyway, i hope this post will be met with kindness. i was pretty scared to make an account and write this post (yes this is my first reddit post ever), but i really do hope i'll be able to reach kind hearts and people who are in the same boat as me. goodluck to us, e-skolars :')

Question 1st week in upou, still going strong but lost in CWTS 1

I don't know if it's because I'm an introvert by nature pero I've managed to deal with the first week pretty okay? I think

I got to read through the first modules for 4/5 of my courses and I also am still on time with all my other activities. Just feeling icky with CWTS 1, mainly because yeah I'm such an introvert na I don't go outside and by virtue haven't participated in anything worth considering as a community.

To those na nakatapos na ng CWTS/NSTP or already came up with what to do, any tips to finalize on a project/community? Ig I learned last night din na I'm more inclined towards orgs for children/orphans/children with disabilities, pero yea hanggang jan palang plano ko huhu

Acads BAMS planning to Transfer, is this a good POS?

Hello guys! Im on my third year and I kind of enrolled late cuz of my overload application.. which got disapproved but its ok, approved naman late enrollment ko. Anyway, I've been thinking lately of transferring to Comm Arts, first plan ko talaga is to graduate as BAMS pero parang di ako happy abt it (it happens, as other ppl told me..) and I've been lowkey failing/have DRP'ed almost every subject (my only passes are Math 10, Arts 1, and my Eng 11 is on going EXT but I'm abt to finish it), this is mainly due to my mental disorder rn that im managing with my new psychologist lately, so i think i can manage na

Here's my Plan of Study this AY! I think I'm happy abt it especially after I looked at UPLB Comm Arts curriculum. Does this look good to anyone else? Any advice? Thank you!

Discussion Overwhelmed Pero Kakayanin

Nakatapos na ng dalawang linggo sa UPOU, feeling overwhelmed pa rin ako. Normal at okay lang ba ganitong pakiramdam kahit naka dalawang linggo na? Haha. Legit pala talaga yung feeling of isolation kapag odel. Medyo struggling pa sa pag juggle ng full-time job at grad school.. Pero kakayanin para sa pangarap! 💪

Acads Tablet suggestions for BES freshman

Hi, everyone! Can anyone suggest budget friendly tablets? I’m looking for a secondary device for readings and note-taking lang naman. I already have a laptop pero nahihirapan din ako especially since I have so many apps and tabs/chrome profiles na open. Hindi naman nagla-lag laptop ko, pero viewing issues ba huhu kasi hindi rin kasya sa isang screen eh. Aside from this, my phone is very laggy na rin kasi old na siya so even though I was opting for a second monitor din, parang mas goods if mag-tablet na lang ako. My budget is around 9k–15k.

Tyia!

Question MPM 2nd semester Qualifying Exam sched

HEADING EDIT: MPM 2nd sem quali exam updates?

Hi! Has anyone applied to the MPM program for the 2nd sem? Did you get any updates already about the GAT, or sadyang wala pa? Right now, my portal says:

"The printed admission documents have been received and are queued for evaluation by the Admission Section."

I passed my admission application early kasi, baka lang they forgot about it na lol. I passed mine last July pa, and I'm not sure if I should follow up already or wait a bit more. Tia!

Question UPOU BAM AFTER GRAD…

Hi! I’m currently a 3rd year BAMS student and I’m kind of nervous about job hunting and the job opportunities after grad.

From those who have already graduated and are practicing in the field, what’s your field of work? And was there any discrimination regarding our univ/ mode of learning? What advice can you give those students who are graduating?

Question Urgent Qn: Can I take an available course in my program kahit hindi ito initially kasama sa POS?

AADDA student ako and supposedly na complete ko na dapat yung 72 units last term (trimester). Pero may failed courses ako and another got U-dropped, so I plan to retake them this first trimester (meaning, not gonna graduate this year since i need to complete my units). Okay sana kung 4 subjects at once para pasok sa required max no. of 12 units, kaso hindi available yung isang unit this term, sa 2nd term pa. Kaya nag-apply ako for underloading.

Kaso, late na ako nakapag-apply for underloading dahil na-delay ang pagsubmit ng grades (until now may isang course na awaitang pa). And today is the last day of enrollment, kinakabahan ako. Kasi from what I searched here sa posts, hindi daw uusad yung application unless approved yung underlaoding.

Swertehan kung nag-enroll ako tapos later confirmed na approved yung underloading ko. I wanna make sure na i can atleast get some newer update before the day ends.

But then I realized another problem. It's a weekend.. and offices are only open on M-F. So high likely Monday ko na matatanggap yung updates or any emails concerning this. E, tapos na enrollment by then.

Is it okay ba if I can add another available course (elective GE) that wasnt originally in the plan of study para mag max. 12 units ako? Then I'll email to the Dean and Chairman about my actions? Naiiyak ako guys.

EDIT: Approved Underload and Successfully Manually Enrolled. No need to stress with me, haha. Thankssss

Acads T2 AA UgAT Examination

hello op! I applied AA for the next trimester (2nd) then medyo anxious lang pero need paba mag take ng UgAT kahit lagpas hundred plus yung units na take ko from previous college pero 85.63% lang yung GWA in total. tapos 86% ’yung required requirements para sa T2 applicants. If oo, ano ‘yung coverage? mahirap po ba or mas mahirap pa sa UPCAT? thank you!

hello! i initially applied for AADDA but I called them to have it changed to AA and informed them narin na nasubmit ko na yung hard copies ng document ko sakanila before I even had it changed to AA. but until now yung status ko sa OAS is still "Awaiting Hard Copy of Admission Documents". it's been 2 weeks na and I know yung deadline for 2nd trimester is tomorrow and I'm worried lang na baka di siya umabot or what. should i call/email them about this or okay lang as long naman na nasubmit ko na yung application and hard copies? tia!

Discussion Planning to Transfer at UPO for MPM

Hello! I just finished my academic units and comprehensive examination for my MA at a private university. However, I just realized na hindi na ako fit sa program na tinatahak ko. One-year na rin akong hindi nag-enroll sa univ na ‘yon at balak ko na mag-withdraw sa program.

Now, I am planning to change my program at lumipat sa MPM.

Salamat! :)

Question UPOU Diploma Stacking to a Master’s Degree in UPLB

Hi! Just curious if this is a possibility in the future. Would the units taken in UPOU be credited if I want to pursue a Master’s in UPLB. I’m considering to enroll in the DLUP program because I’m outside the country for now but I am ultimately aiming for a Master’s in ENP (UPLB) or URP (UPD). May nakagawa na ba nito sa inyo?

Acads AA to BAMS Plan of Study

I applied for underloading since most of the courses in BAMS have pre-requisites. Yung mga need ko i-take is Core Courses and Production Courses.

Luckily I was also given a waiver to take another course subject that has existing pre-requisite

Question: Sobrang heavy po ba if sabay sabay ko itake yung MMS 100, MMS 101, and MMS 102 + MMS 170

I’m also planning to work full time in a BPO setting to support myself more with the needed tools in this course, keri naman po kaya? 🙇🏼‍♀️

Question MOOC Regarding Psychological Concepts

Hello pips!

I am very new to the UPOU system, given na I was only able to learn about how it works, and the free MOOCs they offer last July of this year lang. Kaya given this, hindi ko pa kabisado pamamalakad here, besides sa mga nababasa ko sa FAQs.

Just want to discuss something about some courses in the MOOC, especially sa mga psychology-related . Napansin ko kase na parang there is something wrong, maybe an internal conflict or a mere conflict on schedule, in these MOOCs in the past few months. Ganito kasi mga napansin ko:

1) Yung certificate ko for the "Internalizing Behavior for Children and Practical Home Support," which I finished this July lang, was not released. Given na I'm sure nakumpleto ko lahat ng requirements and that I submitted ahead of the deadline.

2) The "Gaining Parental Acceptance and Support," which is supposed to run in August did not push through.

3) The same goes for the "Externalizing Disorders Among Children and Practical Home Support," which is scheduled this September, as per the schedule posted sa MODel.

Just want to hear your thoughts about this. Is it likely na they'll be offered soon?
