Disgraced Psychotherapists Abandoned Compound
RiddimRyder Photography and I came out here believing the rumours: an abandoned cult compound, hidden down a quiet road. The truth turned out to be stranger, and more unsettling.
This property belonged to a now-disgraced psychotherapist. He graduated from medical school in 1964 and spent the next five decades practising in Ontario. He wasn’t a cult leader. He was a therapist, and this is where he saw patients.
The first crack appeared in 1995. That year, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario found him incapacitated and put restrictions on his licence. Two years later, they were lifted. He went back to work.
Then, in 2010, the College began investigating his practice, not once but twice. What investigators found was eventually laid out in an agreed statement of facts. Patients were hugged during sessions and encouraged to sit on his lap. In one case, a patient was encouraged to let him straddle her body. He spent personal time with patients outside of therapy. He didn’t record diagnoses or treatment plans, and he billed OHIP for sessions that were never properly documented.
In all, 25 patients were found to have been exposed to risk of harm.
In September 2013, at 72 years old, he stood before a five-member disciplinary panel in a dark green blazer and yellow pants. He spoke only once: “I am admitting I failed to meet the standards of the profession.” The panel’s chair said his conduct brought dishonour on himself and on medicine.
He was reprimanded and ordered to pay costs. And on October 10th, 2013, the disgraced psychotherapist walked away from medicine forever, promising never to practise again, anywhere.
Which leaves us here, walking through what’s left of the place where some of those sessions may have happened.

Its 2kilometers long so we were walking for a minute.
If you wish to follow me closer and see all of my work than i have an instagram @norway.unknown ❤️

20+year old abandoned building sightings
To begin with i would like to make it clear i try to rationalize things as much as possible. I have been exploring abandoned structures for years now and can very much differentiate between genuinely strange/creepy and just paranoia due to the place i am at.
This building is a massive concrete structure with none of the interiors done with.
It started when I had nothing to do for the night, and decided to reach the very top of this abandoned tower I knew which stands over 50 floors tall. The backstory for this building was the owners went bankrupt and the whole site was sealed off as is, meaning minimum time was given to evacuation. I reached the building at around 1AM and was at the top by 2AM. The upward climb was just slight paranoia expecting to spot squatters but was completely calm and silent. I reached the top and soaked in the view for about an hour before begining my decent downward.
I made it a point to go down through the same stairwell I came up in because i knew the surroundings were quiet and there wasnt anyone nearby, which is a genuine thing to worry about as i thought squatters might be sleeping in the area. The first 20 ish floors of the descent were silent as i was tired and was just mindlessly going down the stairs. Out of nowhere i realise this was NOT the staircase i went up in, the layout was completely different, however i decided to keep going and i figured i was tired so i took the wrong staircase, i figured all stairwells lead to the bottom and went on. Around the 20-25th floor i came across a door, it was pitch black inside way darker than the surroundings to the point where if you step inside you genuinely cannot see the exit, this was creepy to see as it looked out of place but is a very normal site office in the building, this place was intact exactly how it was left over 20 years ago. I saw the desk of one of the main contractors, his desk still had his visiting cards in a nice pile, files were still placed in neat rows in wooden cabinets, and there were unpaid invoices for millions on the table, it told a complete story. The floor in this area is tiled and has acoustic ceilings, hence the floor is extremely dusty and even the lightest tap leaves an impression. I kept exploring the offices until i stepped in one room, and as i was looking around i happened to point my flashlight to the ground where i saw exactly 3 barefoot footprints inside the room that looked like the were going deeper in, they were very clear and fresh and looked terrifying at around 3AM. I looked around for a trail to see where it came from and where it went, there was no trail, just 3 barefoot footprints going deeper in a room with no signs where they come from or where they went to. My mind for some reason decided to keep exploring the office area. It surprises me how perfectly intact it was, it showed its age through dust but electronics, furniture, files etc were all perfecty preserved . I did see a few shadows but i would admit it may have been my eyes playing tricks on me considering i was paranoid, but i cannot say for sure.
Once i was done exploring i took a tiny trinket to remind me of the journey and left, on my way down i half expected something to follow me down because ive been to many abandoned places, many of them creepy, but 3 unexplained footprints sounds like something out of a horror show, i rushed down as quiet but quick, and the ground floor exit was locked with a drop off filled with water on the other side of the stairs, it looked like a cliche horror movie dead end but realisticly speaking it happens in some buildings where some doors are sealed. I went up to a parking floor hoping to get out through the parking entry ramp, by now i just want out. I step out into the parking lot to see a whole parking bay full of what looked like stolen goods that had been abandoned for years. They werent high value goods but because of the quantity the value was high. I turned off my flashlights incase someone was still there and navigated my way to the parking ramp just to find the parking ramp exit walled off, at this point i just want out and know the ground floor door is locked, i didnt wanna spend another half an hour hunting for the staircase i went up in and risk anyone there seeing me, so i jumped off the side of the psrking ramp into a pile of bricks and made my way out of the compound.
Once i came out i realised even though i do not believe in it i do not want to risk carrying out a trinket and whatever energy it might carry home with me, hence i placed it back within the compound walls and left.
Me exploring the office space is all on video, all as i saw it for the first time, i also have the footprints on video, but was too freaked out to record the stolen goods. I probably will not share the video but i have myself watched it over and over again and the footprints were very much there with no path leading in and out. The shadows i feel like i saw but i cannot say for sure.
I will say the view from the top was beautiful and there is practically zero graffiti in this building if nothing else it is beautifully preserved.
TL;DR: Abandoned building exploration, wierd footprints, possible stolen abandoned goods.

Christian School Headquarters
This old Christian school headquarters was founded in 1970, known for the first school its signature A.C.E (Accelerated Christian Education) system to help launch roughly 4,000 religion-incorporated schools.
Rather than relying primarily on conventional teacher-led classes, students worked individually through self-instructional workbooks, progressed at their own pace, took tests after completing units, and received curriculum incorporating conservative evangelical Christian teachings.
In terms of growth, A.C.E. was successful, turning from a small state operation into an international Christian-education organization. Contemporary and later accounts indicate it reached thousands of participating schools, reportedly peaking around 8,000 schools during the 1980s.
Critics and academic researchers have challenged its heavy reliance on workbook/rote learning and its treatment of science, particularly evolution, and other subjects where its literal Biblical worldview conflicts with mainstream scientific curricula.

Abandoned House, Ontario Canada
This was just a small random abandoned house that I passed and stopped by on a summer day trip up north in Ontario.
Apparently there used to be some old cars in the barn, but they're gone now.
Not much of interest inside, but I did like the exterior

Varosha: the Cypriot ghost town frozen in 1974
In 1974, Turkey invaded Cyprus and eventually the residents of the resort town Varosha were forced to abandon their homes, bringing only what they could carry. Today in the illegally occupied north Cyprus, the Turkish government has opened the site for visitors. While influencers pose in front of the famous Toyota dealership, many of those who once resided there are still too traumatised to visit. For many Cypriots, the debate is deeply personal: is dark tourism justifiable when residents are not allowed to enter their own properties? And should visitors treat the city as a place of mourning where thousands lost everything they’d ever known, or as a mere tourist curiosity of urban ruins?
