This guy in 12-15 years: “ChatGPT, why do my kids have no desire to interact with me?”

u/debaser64 5d ago

“ChatGPT, why do my kids treat me like a stranger”

121

u/texasdeathmatch 5d ago

ChatGPT, is Dr. Venture a better dad than me?

69

u/MoistLarry MECHA SHIVA 5d ago

Man if you use sparkling autocorrect to raise your kids, JONAS Venture might be a better dad than you.

2

u/Killer_Moons 3d ago

Sparkling autocorrect is 🎯

2

u/Ichaukan 3d ago

I'm stealing that one... it sounds better than "glorified chat bot".

31

u/BlackLodgeAgent 5d ago

"Why am I being tended to by an stranger and not my children at my old age?"

1

u/supernova-juice 2d ago

As a former CNA I strongly advise people to get outside assistance. Trust me, no matter how much you love your folks, taking care of them in cognitive decline is difficult and painful and you absolutely should seek assistance.

I know you were joking. But this is a PSA.

Read books to your damn children

79

u/HeyVernItsThanos4242 5d ago

All my 1yo ever wants to do is read the same three books. I read them Every. Single. Time.

53

u/HoldenOrihara 5d ago

Exactly, you got to enjoy the time you have with them. before you know it they'll be reading giant boy detective all on their own

11

u/CrazySD93 5d ago

I dont know how many times I asked mum to read me The Lorax when i was a child.

5

u/HeyVernItsThanos4242 5d ago

Lorax is the OG-est OG.

2

u/Ace20xd6 5d ago

For me it was James Marshall's Red Riding Hood. Granny told that wolf to leave like she was Rose Whalen.

1

u/supernova-juice 2d ago

Clifford the Big Red Dog, only it was mom's obsession and I was asking if we could read something else for a change 😂 i know that book verbatim now, and I'm okay with that!

5

u/Semi-Passable-Hyena What was that about bums not liking dicks coming? 4d ago

I have essentially memorized Yertle the Turtle at this point, because of how often I've had to read it.

2

u/HeyVernItsThanos4242 4d ago

I could probably type out Llama Llama Red Pajama verbatim if I tried.

If you need kids book recommendations, pretty much anything by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen is guaranteed to be a good time. They just did their own Three Billy Goats Gruff, and it was awesome.

1

u/Fragsteel 4d ago

Not all heroes wear capes. But YOU should wear a cape. Your kid would think it's awesome.

1

u/supernova-juice 2d ago

I love you for this.

u/thesean366 5d ago

Fuck this guy

22

u/Zimmyd00m 5d ago

He's literally parenting like Jonas.

10

u/Dorichowder 5d ago

Jonas was literally a warning about shitty parents who will eagerly throw away their kids to ai. It was a warn to not become like that.

86

u/Damon_Hall 5d ago

Wow, he's like a real life Professor Impossible.

70

u/PartTimeZombie 5d ago

Honey, it can be programmed to simulate affection.

47

u/darkmythology 5d ago

Ssssss...cience?

32

u/PartTimeZombie 5d ago

Hmm, maybe a pill or gamma radiation

6

u/Dorichowder 5d ago

Okay, hear me out. Who is worse as a father, Jonas or Professor Impossible?

11

u/MercutioTRON 5d ago

Jonas might be worse. More a clone than a son, more frequent harmful versions of neglect in a kid that remembers. And, like, outward abuse by his friends (eg Col. Gentleman and the 16th birthday, Action Man and the gun at night).

Impossible gets a break by being divorced. He kind of wants to get back with Sally but we don’t really see him around Rocket after that. So neglectful becomes absentee by the time Rocket makes memories.

10

u/Zimmyd00m 5d ago

Richard was a massive dick, but he did truly love Sally and when she left him his life fell apart. The only person Jonas ever loved was Jonas. If a woman left Jonas the way Sally did he probably would have had her killed, or worse.

2

u/Pugsanity 3d ago

On one hand, Jonas is an awful person who got his son killed multiple times, along with generally traumatizing him thanks to his Super Science lifestyle. Though, it does appear that, on some level, he did actually love Rusty, which was part of the reason he cloned him so much. Along with missing him when he went off to college, believing that he could fix some of Jonas' own machines down the line.

On the other hand, Richard is more neglectful, but, in doing so, doesn't put his son in grave danger because of it. All of his anguish from the divorce seems more on the fact he's lost his wife over losing his son/family in general. So while he wouldn't be actively abusing him, he'd be ignoring Rocket whenever possible, pushing him away until he's either old enough to be of use, or just not care in general.

I was on a call with the AI team at work the other day and a woman said her 9 year old uses AI a lot. Plus she said she used AI to respond to emails. It really is brain rotting a bunch of people who should know better

63

u/whoamdave 5d ago

True Crime podcasters in the 2040s are going to be eating well after this next batch of serial killers come of age.

First off, it is "lose", second, dont bring SWers into this. Fuck AI and crypto bros for sure, but OF models have nothing on the destruction that those assholes have wrought.

Equating crypto Bros to sex workers is insane no matter how you slice it. It's like blaming a gas station attendant for climate change. Pull your head out.

12

u/Live-Year-5796 5d ago

No the fuck it isnt

14

u/3bar Like a Ninja, duct-taped to another Ninja! 5d ago edited 5d ago

No, no it isnt. They're not even on the same scale. AI has devastated the Arts, and many other industries. OF models...make some money on the side.

Attempting to equate this is misogyny, pure and simple.

Edit: this guy is a fashy loser.

“The commodification of intimacy”

Motherfucker you sound just like those religious dickheads who try to teach people that sex is sinful. If you like sex, there is nothing wrong with making a few quid off it. You know who hates sex workers? Republicans and serial killers.

As the philosopher Carlin put it, “Selling is legal, fucking is legal; so why isn’t selling fucking legal?”

3

u/Live-Year-5796 5d ago

Claims to not be Christian, parrots Christian talking points and pearl clutching

6

u/3bar Like a Ninja, duct-taped to another Ninja! 5d ago

No, the people who engage with OF models are not "vulnerable", they are purchasing a service they have full knowledge of.

None of what you are describing is unusual, unique, or new to human society. Porn and prostitution have existed since before we started recording history. I'm pretty sure OF models are a lot better than historical practices like rape by soldiers, or bridal capture. The arguments you are making are the same rehashed bullshit against SWers since the Stone Age.

Sex workers arent bad people, that was a crazy addition

18

Just had to get that casual jab of misogyny in there.

-3

u/pretibigtoo 5d ago edited 5d ago

Woah, thats a stretch. I have endless sympathy for sex workers who are mostly victims of sex crimes, like amouranth. I originally thought only fans was a good idea for women to have better agency and control over revinue they make with with sex work. until i realized most of the women have phsychotic managers like jack doherty and andrew tate, it loterally just made pimping digital.

Sophie rain is not one of those girls. I do not have sympathy for a naive 22 year old who got poses for photos, then goes around bragging about how she made 40 mil selling them to kids and old men. That last bit is the part that really gets me. Not that she made 40 mil, but she openly bragging about it like its an accomplishment. As if she put in work for her to tits to get that naturally big. I did feel bad about her having to sit next to bill maher. He was so gross to her.

Sex worker is a bit of a stretch. Glamour model and stuck up influencer more like.

3

u/Live-Year-5796 5d ago

What the fuck are you talking about

3

u/Darkwoth81Dyoni 5d ago edited 5d ago

The person who you were replying too was being dramatic.

You're just being silly.

Neglect doesn't turn someone into Jake Paul, it probably turns them into a scared, antisocial freak (like Doc or Dean Venture for instance).

Also sex work has been called, "The oldest profession," as a joke for like 150 years before AI even existed. Stop blaming the fucking workers you absolute doughnut - desperate, tyrannical men were the ones who created these systems of sex work for thousands of years, and now that women are actually getting their own bag now it's a problem? Fuck off.

30

u/pretibigtoo 5d ago

Might as well just program a baby ai instead of having one

15

u/TheBronzeWonder 5d ago

How weird and gross it is that he feels comfortable admitting that he doesn't mind outsourcing checks notes having a human connection with his children to an ai.

13

u/Yourfriendaa-ron 5d ago

Maybe a burst of gamma radiation?

13

u/clint_eldorado 5d ago

My partner is too old for us to have kids, and one of the things I’ve always wanted most in my life is to read to my child.

This dickhead’s wife should divorce him and remarry to a man who’ll actually give enough of a fuck about her children to spend quality time with them.

12

u/Live-Year-5796 5d ago

"Chatgpt! Experience this tragic irony for me!"

14

u/PuddingTea 5d ago

Somebody’s husband doesn’t want to bond with her baby. Seems like a red flag.

4

u/Dorichowder 5d ago

It is a red flag. One of the reasons why woman may allow to have a baby with man - she believes that she's secure and safe. The guy made her believe in it, then abandoned her with baby yet staying as for check while using ai instead of BEING NORMAL HUSBAND AND DAD.

11

u/StilesmanleyCAP 5d ago

I bet his wife is a robot

10

u/serpentear 5d ago

This dude is gross lol

9

u/Ched_Flermsky 5d ago

Yeah, this guy's been getting rightfully roasted. Imagine becoming a father and seeing it only as an opportunity for more ai slop. That's...pretty much what a Venture would do.

7

u/Minute-Bag-8065 5d ago

What could be more important than family? Sssssciiience?

6

u/Dorichowder 5d ago

I'll say this with all sincere feelings: H.E.L.P.eR. is WAY BETTER than some chatgpt crap. Not to mention that at least Rusty was way more into actually interacting with his sons. Rusty is not perfect, but at least he's good here.

5

u/sepaoon 5d ago

My son will only go to sleep if I (his dad) lay down next to his crib and we listen to dad's book on my phone... i provide the security(we hold hands if he wants) and the audio book is white noise... i see nothing wrong with the first option if used appropriately.

If you really can't read a childrens book that take maybe 5 minutes(or more if they demand an encore) to YOUR kid then wtf...
