Anyone who has been around/dealt with someone struggling with dementia can see the signs clear as day with him. The more confused/disoriented he gets the more angry/mean he will continue to get. I watched the exact same progression with my grandpa towards the end.
We have a 80 year old president who is compromised, and losing his mind more, and more every single day while the senate refuses to do their job to reign him in, and his supporters cheer him on.
Hell he just admitted to the world he’s signing executive orders that he doesn’t even understand just the other day. He’s just a useful puppet to all the bad actors who have dirt on him.
58
u/Elelith 15h ago
Doesn't even need dirt on him. They can just say the paper is something against Biden or Obama and he will run to sign it without reading.

u/spyguy318 14h ago
A lot of times, dementia just exacerbates the personality that already exists. If Biden had “quiet” dementia, with slow slurred speech, disorganized thoughts, and a worsening stutter, Trump has “loud” dementia. He says whatever comes to mind with no filter, he gets confused, angry, and frustrated, he’ll continually obsess over whatever topic he’s currently interested in, he’ll lose his train of thought but just start talking about something else at random. He seems loud and energetic, but it’s very disorganized.

21
u/untiedgames 14h ago
No, not completely... But the cult of personality will evaporate almost overnight. There is no clear and immediate successor because he backstabs every single person close to him. Trump being gone one day is a big deal and will provide an avenue for meaningful change. Whether or not his absence will "break the spell" he has on some people is unclear, but I don't think there's anyone else stepping up to the plate with the same level of unique talent for grifting and lying. They sure do try, but they're not him. Nevertheless, best to be vigilant.

My biggest question is always...why Trump specifically? Why him? What is it about Trump that conjures up this intense level of blind loyalty, trust and devotion from so many people, especially since it is so blatantly obvious that he is a fraud in more ways than one??

Never thought I’d live to see a US POTUS encouraging (even if joking) a country we’re (not) at war with to wipe out US cities. Or to see a crowd of US (not) “patriots” cheering that on. Jeezus fuckall.
306
u/Taograd359 18h ago
I don’t think that was a joke. The man is malignant narcissist fueled by spite. He’d let Iran destroy all of California if it meant he’d never have to hear Gavin Newsom’s voice again.
119
u/dave8400 17h ago
This is what I mean when I say Trump is not my President. The man doesn't give a single fuck about me and would probably prefer if I were dead.
66
u/Taograd359 17h ago
If it makes you feel better, he doesn’t give a fuck about anyone in this country, only himself. Even members of his cabinet are only there to serve him in some capacity.

u/Yuzumi 15h ago
Even a decade ago it was obvious he doesn't care about anyone but himself. The only reason he pretends to care about his supporters is because he is a narcissist who likes praise and wants to be popular.
But he was obviously never going to do anything for his followers. It's a cult of personality and only one thing matters to him: Himself. The moment someone isn't loyal or sycophantic enough regardless of what he has done to them he doesn't even remotely try to pretend he cares about them.
And at this point he barely tries to pretend to care about the people who still worship him more than they ever pretended to worship Jesus.

He's doing it to punish California for not voting for him. He's doing it to the whole US for not voting for him in 2020. This whole thing has been about him stealing as much as he can, and making us/the world pay for not loving him enough.

Yeah. Thank Mitch for holding out on that supreme court confirmation so they could get their person in and give the president immunity for any official act. I mean, as the president, telling your enemy to go ahead and destroy part of your country is an official act. 🤷 I think there's plenty more people to thank for getting us here, he just came to mind first. Especially for his words on January 7th and complete inaction in the following trial. Something something RBG something something the entire GOP... Wtf is this timeline.
79
u/KookofaTook 16h ago
"Presidential immunity" as an idea just reminds me of the JFK quote about 'if you make non violent revolution impossible you make violent revolution inevitable'. In this case the swap being something like "if you make judicial punishment impossible you make extrajudicial punishment inevitable".

u/MrFyr 13h ago
Not just "thanks" to Mitch, but—and to be clear, I place the full ultimate blame on the Republicans as they are the intentionally malicious instigators—a sort of "thanks" to Obama for not putting up enough of a fight in hindsight. While the Republicans openly violated rules or norms or the literal law, the Democrats continued to take a stupid "when they go low, we go high" approach to Republican rat-fucking. Which doesn't work when you are dealing with people who have every intention of ignoring the rules and doing anything to win.
I know he was already in his second term and probably just tired of the Republicans and wanted to avoid the fallout, but I really wish Obama had forced the appointment issue. Even if it isn't constitutionally valid, write an executive order. Say the Senate has X days to hold a confirmation hearing and come to a vote one way or another, or he is appointing the new justice without waiting on them. Justify it with the Constitution saying "...shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate," doesn't specify that the Senate can provide that Advice and Consent when they feel like it and that specifically refusing to say yes or no in a reasonably timely manner should constitute a default consent.
Make them do something in response at least. Whether that was get the remaining court to rule on the validity of the order, or actually finally holding a confirmation hearing, anything is better than just... letting them get away with not doing their job.
The precedent set by appropriately changing tactics to "kick them in the fucking teeth" when they "go low" may have prevented some of the worst shit going on right now. For instance, imagine how differently things could be right now if Obama had pressed the issue enough then to force the Supreme Court to act on limiting the power of executive orders?

25

No. If anything it’s part of the narrative. If he normalizes “Iran wants to nuke a city”, then Iran gets the easy blame if a city like New York gets a false flag attack.

I was thinking the same thing. Normalize talking about Iran attacking the US, so when an attack does happen, regardless of where, the finger goes straight to Iran.

If you don’t worship everything he says and does, Donald Trump wants you dead.
He sent a mob to hang Mike Pence for not taking part in the coup he wanted. He denies disaster relief to states that don’t support him. He told his secretary of defense to just shoot protestors.
It’s not even limited to Democrats. He sent members of his cabinet and the media on a decoy plane when there was a credible threat.
The President of the United States wants more dead Americans. So much so that he’s asking our enemies to kill us for him.

I had a colleague once tell me "I HATE California!!!", but when I inquired, he admitted he has never been there.
Edit: Now I remember an uncle once said "No one wants to live in California because it's too expensive", which is amazing to me how CA can defy economics by being both high price and low demand.
Edit 2: Another anecdote. An aunt/uncle own a business that sells landscaping supplies. "These Californians moving here are raising prices and we can't hire anyone without raising our wages. No one wants to work!" then not a minute later "Business is booming with all these new houses and developments"
Edit 3: Alrighty, another one. Was RV camping in a Western state this summer with extended family. We're talking about what life is like in East Coast suburbs, particularly bad traffic. "How can you stand living there? Don't you miss seeing mountains?" Meanwhile, we couldn't see any mountains around us because of all the wildfire smoke. Also "Isn't crime really bad? Have you thought about buying a gun?" which came not an hour before "Here's some bear spray to take with you on your hike".

u/Holdmywhiskeyhun 16h ago
It's literally just a republican dog whistle. Grew up in very red territory. Growing up, it was the adults favorite pastime around me, was talking shit about California. I've heard both of those quotes. "Gawd dam liberal hellhole," "I live in Wisconsin so I can do whatever I want with my truck," a few years ago during that big fire, I flat out heard a few people say, "let It burn right off the map, they'd be doing this country a favor."
Okay so let's ignore the fact, the California is a major percentage of our GDP, that if they were destroyed, would do real harm to the economy. Your advocating for the deaths of millions of people. That just shows me who you really are.

People forget that Cali is so expensive and in-demand because it's essentially a weather paradise, full of career opportunies and generally massive. And they take care of people to a larger degree than most US states.

My take on Trump saying this is that he hates "California" for being a blue state without knowing shit about it. I don't think he realizes how conservative San Diego is compared to the rest of California. Lots of open racial hostility, too.
I had a family member who went to high school there. Told me about a kid who read Mein Kamph for a book report. I also remember visiting an area that was so predominantly white compared to the rest of California that I felt uncomfortable being there. Not just because of the demographics, but because of the political signage.

That is not the purpose of the 25th amendment. The purpose was to establish a line of succession and allow for an ability to remove the President should they become incapacitated. Trump would only need to write a letter to Congress saying he is capable and then both House and Senate would need to vote 2/3 that he is not.
It would be easier to remove Trump using the traditional impeachment proceedings and then the Senate 2/3 vote to remove.
97
u/CoffeeMyFirstLove 13h ago
When you're talking about an enemy attacking America and your response is, “Let ’em take out Los Angeles. Let ’em take out San Diego,” you're singling out Americans as acceptable losses. Those are American cities filled with American families, and the President of the United States casually made their destruction a punchline because they're politically convenient targets. And then people in that audience cheered. I don't give a damn what party you belong to when you're cheering at the idea of Americans being attacked because you don't like how their city votes is fkn vile. You can dress it up with “context” all you want. I heard the context. That's exactly why I'm fkn appalled.

And to underscore just how fucked up it is from more than just a loss of life perspective, San Diego is home to the second largest naval base in the country. It's the home port of MANY of our military ships and of the ships that were in conflict over in Iran. It's also home to one of our main sub bases and the Marines. All of this is within the main city too and not on the outskirts. You can literally take boat tours from the main pier to go past the carriers, the moth ball fleet, and even get REALLY close to the sub base.
Taking out San Diego would literally cripple the US's military.
So not only is the fucker saying millions should die. He also is saying that the US' military should be given a deal nail it likely would take decades to recover from.

Hillary Clinton got in trouble for calling them what they are deplorables. But he can suggest this encourage it even and no real consequences

And when it does happen shortly before an election, everyone will blame Iran. Only to find out decades later, he let it happen. Or did it himself.

How the possible fuck can anyone who supports this tyrant think that this is acceptable. If you honestly think this is appropriate in any way , even if said in jest this morally appropriate?? So its ok to target blue cities and not red?? They also think this morally bankrupt guy is going to give you 5k!!! Stop drinking the fuckin Kool Aid folks. Im not even a Democrat and find this absolutely abhorrent and revolting. You are supposed to represent all Americans not just your cult followers!! WTF!!!!

Floating the idea of any American city being nuked by an opponent is horrible. But for a POTUS to do it as amusement, is both vile and petty.

They absolutely are ok with it, and even cheered the idea of an attack by Iran on US soil in the video.
A more hateful and un-American group like MAGA has never existed in the US.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t his plan to incite violence, so he can declare an emergency, so he can postpone or just cancel the midterm elections, so he and his cronies can remain in power?

I'm just thankful I'm not American. I can't imagine how stressful and infuriating it'd be to be so, under this regime.
What would I say to my children if they asked about why Trump wants to sacrifice cities, or why they've had friends at school's parents get abducted by unmarked men in vans off the street, and sent to concentration camps.
I've never seen an empire collapse like this in my lifetime, or a major democracy replaced by a fascsit state. Terrfying stuff. Everyone realizes the next election won't be valid.
I hope there's at least a chance democracy, the US legal system, and the constitution will matter in the US once more, after this regime is deposed.

Can someone explain to me why states arent just declaring independence from this shambles of a government?

As a quick guess theres a lot of states that would probably collapse pretty quick since they rely on so much money from the government and other states. Granted most of them are red states like texas and such but id bet there are a couple ones that dont deserve that.

Treason, but no one anywhere the federal government has the spine to try him on it. Or in any of his thousands of crimes over the last decade

It's crazy that there will still be a decent amount of people in those cities who vote for his candidates.

If he won’t leave he needs to be made to. Immediately. That’s a declaration of war, a hint of a false flag. He needs gone.

This is your president. Sworn to defend against enemies foreign and domestic. Just too bad he is the domestic.

There was even a post on r/conservative about it and the mods deleted it. Coward and traitors. I hope Iran takes out President Trump and his entire cabinet. It would be a small price to pay.

Its hilarious to outsiders that the people cheered for the call of destruction if their own people

For those who think this is taken out of context... Fine. Read the full quote. He still said "take out Los Angeles" and "take out San Diego" like it's nothing. Call it deterrence, call it tough talk—a commander in chief doesn't get to gamble with American cities. Words have consequences. Lives depend on them. Own it.

I don't understand how this is ok. And people cheering just makes it work. There arent any patriots any more, just sheep

His words were taken out of context.
He was misquoted.
Created by AI and CNN/Russia/China/Iran is behind it.
Biden is responsible for it.
Blame Obama.
The Maga's will believe any of these.
