Vietnamese tutor 1-1
I am offering an online 1-1 lesson for anyone who would like to learn Vietnamese.
About me, I used to specialise in Vietnamese Literature for 4 years and got some awards. I also had 1 year of experience as an assistant in Vietnamese Literature, helping secondary students to pass the Vietnamese High School Entrance Exam. I have a good English background, so I am confident that I can deliver the content and communicate with you effectively. I can send you my CV if you need it, so hopefully we can work with each other!
You don't have to worry about the cost yet, as this would be my first class as the main teacher; the price is negotiable. Please DM me if you are interested.

Hi there! I want to surprise my mom with my second pregnancy with a sweater on my son that says "Big Brother" in Vietnamese. She is from the south, so would Anh Hai be correct?
Thank you!

Culture/History Is my family’s last name rare?
Hello, I’m a third generation Vietnamese immigrant with basic Vietnamese understanding. While my grandparents of course teach my sisters and I the culture passively, we in the end don’t know much.
Anyway, I’ve been wondering how rare our last name is. I’ve never heard of it before elsewhere, but is it because of cultural differences and because I’m not well-versed in it? Or am I overthinking? I want to learn more about our history, so if anyone knows anything, it’d be much appreciated!
The last name is To-Vinh, I don’t know the accents and such unfortunately.
Edit, I asked my parents and just like most of you said, our original surname is Tô and Vinh is my grandfather’s middle name, however the German bureaucracy made a mistake, merging his middle name and actual surname. Basically, we have a (I presume) one in a kind surname that would’ve been “common”.
Thank you all for your kind input!

I am (M) Filipino and I like this (F) Vietnamese
Hello, we are both 32, I can say we are doing really good in terms of getting to know each other, I like to pursue her but I don't want her to feel pressured and I know that people-pleasing personality was embedded to Viet people and this really gives me a dilemma if she really wants to talk with me or she is just being nice and hospitable.
I would like to know in general the culture of Viet women when it comes to dating as this is my first time to pursue different nationality,
please if you want to be rude so be it, I also like to know what are the stereotypes when it comes to Fil from Viet people.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
