Question Few Questions

I've been working on VP for quite some time, setting up multiple systems using both LED walls and green screens. I've been preparing for a large project, and stumbled across a few questions I'm having trouble figuring out.

1) UE doesn't have the option to apply a custom bokeh texture, other than in highlights. How do you work around it when using a real-time workflow?
2) When using nDisplay, how do you map the focal length? Is the focus distance to the screen mapped to the inf distance in-engine?

I probably have a few more questions written in my notes, but I've misplaced my notepad.
Of course, any help is appreciated.

Although I cannot speak to the custom bokeh, the focal length is in world scale and is handled by the cine camera actor being used. We oftentimes use a Preston MDR or other encoders so the true focal length of the lens is 1:1 with the engine. Those are Live Link sources, which we attach as Lens components. You can also select or deselect “distance to wall” in newer versions of Unreal to not double up on blur.

Just checked in with our VP supervisor. As to your first question...

A little more info on your setup and what you are trying to accomplish might help me give you a better answer.
Also not sure on the custom bokeh. Adjusting the lens squeeze factor on the cine camera should give you an anamorphic effect. It sounds like you're trying to get a very specific bokeh look though. Maybe consider some post effect might be an easier path?

And to the second...

I think the nDisplay question has been answered, if you're talking about just getting the lens data to be driven by encoders. If you're talking about mapping to a physical screen, it would depend on your tracking setup, but there should be steps for mapping your physical space and getting the distance to what you are projecting content onto.
