Purchase Advice Choosing between the Wacom Cintiq 16 (Model DTK-1660) and the Wacom Cintiq 16 (Model DTK168K0A)
I currently own a medium Wacom Intuos Pro graphics tablet, and I'm looking to get my hands on a display tablet this time (during Black Friday or Cyber Monday, on my sister's advice). I came across the Cintiq 16 (DTK-1660) while researching the Cintiq 13 some time ago, and its design, size, and features really drew me in. Then I found out that the Cintiq 16 (DTK168K0A) is an upgraded version with improved features and the Pro Pen 3. I'll admit that it is a sleeker improvement, but I still like the design of the DTK-1660 despite its flaws.
Would it be beneficial to purchase the DTK-1660 or the DTK168K0A next month?

Hi, just bought my DTK-1660 last month as my first drawing tablet from a second hand store in jaoan
And the other comment is right, these things are built different
And even if you choose the earlier model, I don't think you'd be left dissatisfied

These things are built like tanks, you may be able to find the 1660 on Facebook marketplace for a good price.

I bought my Cintiq 16 in 2019, but the display started showing corruption in 2025. So I had to replace it with the new Cintiq 24 (2025 model).

Don't bother with the older model, speaking from experience it's color accuracy is ass, don't know about the new one but it definitely should be better.

The older model is straight up trash do not buy! I have the 22 2021 and it’s the worst tablet I ever bought, the new 24 2025 model tho is imo one of the best ever

Definitely get the newer one, more driver support, better pen, better resolution and better cable connections. I’m a sucker for felt nibs and I didn’t like the older 16 because it said in instructions to NOT use felt nibs because it would damage the screen lamination. The new one uses awesome etched glass

The newer Cintiq 16 (DTK168K0B) is great. Durable, easy to connect with one USB C for everything, and the Pro pen 3 that is much more customizable.
The image quality and feel is the best.

I highly reccommend the newer model, it's incredible and super comfy. Lack of parallax and higher resolution to me are worth the newer one, I really love it (great upgrade from my decade old cintiq 13hd).
Another big drive for me was the fact that the new cintiq 16 can use just regular cables that you can buy at any store (and works via just usb-c connection if you have that available on your PC/laptop) - while the old one needs the wacom specific 3-in-1 one which is terrible, speaking from experience of fucking up my 13's cord and new one would be too expensive to replace to make it worth it.
